The credit union preys on the elderly with their “courtesy pay” feature. They allow their “members” to overdraft their accounts on a regular monthly basis because they know they will receive government assistance. Not to mention each transaction that occurs, these elderly customers are charged a $30 fee. As a previous employee and since customer their lack of effort to assist me is astounding. Nicole, Karla, Debbie, Teresa, and the “dispute” team are the most unprofessional “professionals” I've ever encountered. I was denied a dispute to be filed because they needed documentation from me. Ive worked for 3 different financial institutions and this is my first time hearing that. A un-authorized transaction over-drafted my account for an extremely large amount. How would I have documentation from an unauthorized transaction? The system is flawed, I say this because each representative that I spoke with could not understand why and how the transaction was allowed to go through when the funds were not available. I was told by Karla that merchants can “force” payments through. If thats the case then every merchant would force every payment through and I wouldnt have gotten several notifications that the payment declined. Theres no such thing as forcing a debit card payment. Im very educated in banking and I know the scams that are ran by these companies who don't “process” payments on weekends. Not only do I have proof that the company should not have charged me, I also have proof of the scam Kellogg community has ran on me and im sure there other 10 customers as well. This is step one of my formal complain
