I brought my car in for a engine diagnostic mid July and was told they could not find any issues within the engine or non codes stored asked that i return if light comes back on...... August i noticed my engine cover was missing, called and spoke to ***** who assured me they would put my name and number on the part. I then scheduled October appointment for window to be looked at, they then said they lost the part or threw it away even though we spoke on multiple occasions to schedule a time to have it placed back on the engine. then charged me $50 for a window estimate and said that was a discount for their services. i never agreed to pay for an estimate and they never replaced or compensated me for the missing engine cover, instead said i should have came back sooner. Business Response

      Date: 10/26/2022

****************** first contact with Auto-Lab ************ was on July 7, 2022.  Her complaint was an interment check engine light (this service is engine diagnosis @$100.00 check out fee).  We found no codes stored in her vehicles system, we stated at this time she could pay the $100.00 check out fee or leave the ticket open until the condition becomes more frequent and we could check it again at that time.  She chose to leave the ticket open.  One month later we received a call from ************** stating her engine cover was missing.  We had our shop helper look around the shop and he found it. We then told ************** we had found the cover and to stop in at her earliest convenience and we would install the engine cover and should only take about 10 minutes.  We did not hear or see her again until October 17,2022 when she scheduled an appointment for her car window to be diagnosed as why it would not go up.  We check out her car and determined her window motor and window regulator needed to be replaced and the job was estimated at $613.06.  ************** stated she could not afford that at this time and asked us to get the window up and she just would not use it right now until she could get it fixed properly.  We did this for her.  In the meantime, we have our shop helper searching the shop for her engine cover to no avail.  We believe our night crew must have discarded the engine cover sometime over the last 3 months thinking it was scrap.  We explained this to ************** and as a courtesy to her we deducted $50.00 off of her $100.00 check out fee for her window issue and completely waived the initial check out fee from July 7, 2022.  She reluctantly paid the $50.00 and then the harassment began.  First in our office, with loud foul language and then with harassing non-stop phone calls, so much so we had to involve the ************ police.  In closing, ************** paid a total of $50.00 for $200.00 worth of services and that should be more than enough for her to replace her engine cover if she chooses.  If she would have shown up in a timely fashion (not 3 months later) to get a ten minute fix done at our shop, we would not be in this situation at all.
