I hired Second Chance Tiles for a bathroom renovation which was slotted to begin on 4/14/2025. On the first day of the job, demolition started on the old bathroom. The contractor took the door to my bathroom off the hinges and proceeded to use saws to cut up my old bathtub in order to remove it in pieces from the bathroom. The workers failed to hang up any sort of barrier to the bathroom resulting in my entire house being covered in a fiberglass powder. This powder was found in thick layers on every surface throughout my home. Over the course of the next month, contractors from Second Chance tiles would fail to appear at the job site at any reasonable time. Chance, the owner and proprietor of Second Chance Tiles, subcontracted all the framing work and plumbing to other contractors. These subcontractors would either appear at the job site and leave early or not appear at all. Often times when they did appear, it was well after business hours and attempt to work late into evening. I would later find out that these subcontractors were only doing their part as a secondary job. One evening I had a contractor working in my house past 7:00 pm and was engaged in a verbal altercation with Chance over the phone. This altercation had by 8-year child afraid while in the safety of his own home. For a job that should have taken no more than 7-10 days, it took in excess of a month, and it still has not been completed. Chance himself expected final payment before the job was complete, and I still have grout lines that are completely missing. At that start of the job, Chance was fully aware the bathroom being remodeled was my primary bathroom and yet he made no effort to complete the job in a timely manner. I had no access to my own garage as his equipment was stored in there for nearly a month. I found out Chance was dumping mortar and grout waste in the ***** behind my house. Communication was poor throughout this project. My error was paying him in full.
