I contracted *********************** of Stoney Brook Development to complete a pole barn in *****************. Contract was signed in March 2023. Due to **** not paying contractors, a lien was put against the mortgage due to **** not paying the concrete contractor for the work he had complete up to this point. He also still has not paid the contractor that trucked in fill.I am now 10 months into a build, without concrete and without the overhead doors. The only communication I have received from **** in the last month is a request for additional funds ($20K over the contracted price) to complete the project.

    1. Contract to build a 30'x60' pole barn was signed 10/4/2023 and I issued a deposit check for $30K per the contract.2. I live in ************* and Pole Barn is in *********, **; which are ~ 4 hours apart.3. Builder started project before even applying for and receiving proper permits.4. Every time I asked for a status of the permit, builder stated it was in process and not to worry.5.Some materials delivered 11/7/2023 and I issued a check for $15K per the contract.6. Builder put up pole barn exterior with the exception of the 2 large roll up doors and I issued a check for $12K on 12/7/2023, per the contract.7. I received a Violation 1 letter form Emmet County dated 12/19/2023.8. I provided a copy of the Violation 1 letter to the builder on 12/23/2023. 9. The last contact I have had with builder was 1/5/2024. He said he was trying to work things out with the county but it was difficult to get ahold of them. he has been unreachable ever since.10. I contacted Emmet County on 1/10/24 and found it quite easy to get a hold of ***********************, which issued the Violation 1 letter. I was told the first record of the county receiving of a permit application form the builder was 12/26/2023 and it was lacking all the items listed in the Violation 1 letter.11. I'm stuck with a pole barn that lacks the following: approved permits, concrete floor, 2 large roll up doors and proper grading upon completion.
