  We hired ***************************** to remove our old deck and build new. We paid for the lumber and told him we wanted to keep the left over 4 x 4's. From inside our home the new deck looked fine and we paid the man. Once we looked at it outside there was only 1 step instead of the 2 like we had before. Each step location had some kind of wooden box screwed where steps should be. It's nearly a foot down and dangerous for little grandkids and ourselves, we are old people. i told him I didn't like those boxes and wanted 2 steps. His trailer with the remaining lumber had already left so he said he would return those 4 x 4's when he came back to build proper steps. We were going out of town and he said it would be finished before we returned. When we got home he had not done any of that. My husband contacted him and he said it would be done by the following Friday. It was not. He wouldn't take my husband's calls or reply to text messages. So last Saturday I called him from my phone and let him know we were very upset that he had not made this right and wouldn't take my husbands calls. I asked him that if he couldn't make the steps safe I wanted some of our money back so I could pay someone else to fix this, and I wanted that lumber back. He had no right to take it, we bought all the wood. He screamed at me and hung up on me. Then he called back and promised he would be here yesterday (Thurs). He never showed up and will not take our calls or reply to texts. I messaged him again and said he apparently wasn't interested in repeat customers or good references. He doesn't stand by his work and treats his customers badly.
