Steve Took a $300 deposit from me for carpet that was going on my boat. He said it would be ready in 2 weeks - 3 pieces that would have an edge all the way around them. At 3 weeks I text him and he told me he'd get back with his supplier who is going to be doing the binding and let me know. Basically I got the same story each time I contacted him. After over 2 months of this I told him I wanted my money back and he promptly replied to me that he would be out to see me the next day to give me my money back. He never did and each time I contacted him he'd always say he would be out to give me my money and I never got it back. I'm very disappointed in Steve as I have worked with him before and I considered him somebody I could trust.

This guy took my credit card number as a down payment, and to order materials for my job. I had authorized $450. I actually thought I was paying him, but he used that amount to order materials from a wholesale supplier. I thought the materials were for my job. He told me that he could get to it in 2-3 weeks. I did not hear from him for over a month, so I drove down to the supplier to see what was going on. This was after I called him and he did not answer his phone. He texted back and said he was out of town for the weekend, and would call Monday, after he would check to see if my materials were in. He never called me. That gave me a red flag, as I had talked to the supplier and they told me it would take less than a week to get those materials. I was worried and drove to ***** to check on those materials. Come to find out, he used my credit card, two other credit cards, plus $500 in cash to order materials all right, none of the materials were for my job though! He only called me after the supplier called him to do so, Then the excuses started, he was in the hospital, he ordered materials elsewhere, then he set up a time. When that day came, 2 guys called in sick, then scheduled for the next week. He didn't show, so I called him, he said he had me down for the next day, and the next day, he was loading the truck and the wrong color sheet vinyl was sent. That is when I had enough and ordered him to bring my deposit back that day, in person, and in cash. To my surprise he did. The bottom line is this guy committed credit card fraud to order someone else's materials to make it look like he ordered it for me. I wasted about two months dealing with this guy trying to get the job done. We ended up getting someone else and got it done in a week without a deposit! It was the worst experience I ever had with a contractor.
