The bike was purchased in January 2023 by my 89 year old father. In August, the bike stopped working. We called several times with no call back. We followed up with several emails. When threatened with legal action, they responded. They sent a part in December (4 months after the start of the problem). The part did not work. After several more unanswered calls* they agreed to have a mobile bike repair shop come out to diagnose the issue. We had to pay for it because they only paid a deposit and left no card on file to pay the other $100.? I asked her to send me a check when they sent the replacement parts and was told they dont have corporate checks?!?! I suggested PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle but got no response and Were still waiting. To add insult to injury, my dad paid $2900 for the bike and theyre now selling it for $1899 * the only time I could get a call back was when I used someone elses phone and told them I was interested in purchasing a bikeInitial Complaint

On July 3, 2023, I purchased an anywherebikes.com electric tricycle from the company for $2,699.00. I financed the purchase through AFFIRM. I received the tricycle. I then was transferred to an assisted living facility. I planned to use the tricycle in the facility as I realized the tricycle is too large to be used in the facility and the director also let me know it was not approved to be used. So I reached out to anywherebikes to return the unused tricycle within the 90 day return window. They have a "HASSLE FREE RETURNS" policy. They sent me an email of steps that must be made to verify the return is approved and ready for pickup. The return policy states that the company will pick up the return when it is ready, inspect the item when they receive it, and give the customer a refund, less any return freight. I put the tricycle on a pallet with shrink wrap and let the company know the tricycle was ready for pickup. Their response was that they were waiting on a carrier to be assigned for the pickup. I responded that I was concerned that the 90 day return window was going to pass and that I would not get my refund. They assured me that since I had contacted them before the 90 day return window had passed that I was approved to make the return.Since this conversation, I have made several follow up calls, texts and emails to find out how to get this return picked up, or where I can send the tricycle, if they are open and to complain about their poor customer service. The last response I have gotten was that they had a computer issue where they had lost all order history and that they appreciated my patience. This was in October. They asked for the name the order was under. I had told them I was going to file a claim with my credit card company. They said this would probably be quicker and guarantee I would get my refund. On 5/5/23, I purchased an electric tricycle for $2599 and an extended warranty for $299 and on 5/6/23, purchased accessories for the trike for $186.99. The trike arrived via XPO, tracking #***-777836, on 5/12/23 and the accessories arrived via **** tracking #1ZW136V10321722645, on 5/11/23. I had a 90 day trial period where I could decide to keep or return. I decided to return, so on 7/13/23, I called and requested to return the trike and accessories and received an email with the terms, I responded in agreement to those terms. We had several emails back and forth in that they were having issues with their carrier. After another 4 weeks, on 8/28/23, I sent an email stating it had been over 7 weeks and a carrier should have been able to be lined up. On 8/31/23, got an email confirming a carrier scheduled. On 9/1/23, ABF , tracking #*** 102 711, picked up the trike and accessories. On 9/13/23, I received an email from ABF that they were unable to deliver the shipment to Anywhere Bikes siting on hold pending payment of shipping charges and storage fees would start being charged until paid. I called ABF and they were able to get things straightened out with Anywhere Bikes and delivered on 9/14/23. I sent 4 unanswered emails, along with several calls, with no response, inquiring how long until I could expect to see a refund. On 10/20/23, my email included that I would file a dispute with the credit card and Anywhere Bikes responded that day stating "We apologize for the delay, our online shop has been corrupted and we are unable to process the refunds until they can figure out what is wrong. We suggest that you file a backcharge with your bank to recoop your funds faster", so I did, but since the purchase date was greater than 60 days, they could not help. I am a 78yr old senior and purchased an e-bike from this company in May of 2023. The bike was too fast and completely unsuitable for me so I decided to return it. Sent the bike back on June 5, 2023 through their shipping company and still have not received a refund. I've called and emailed several times but no one will return my messages. Quick note: while typing my initial report, I inadvertently hit some random key on the keyboard and refreshed the screen, losing my report, thus this report: I purchased a ************* electric bicycle to Anywhere Bikes over their 4th of July sales event (order number ****). It was delivered and I assembled it, however the clamp on the stem that holds the handlebar will not hold the bar securely, allowing it to rotate in the clamp. I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement part, however that took two weeks to arrive, and when it came in, it is identical to the first part, with the same performance issue. I tried repeatedly to contact them to no avail, phone calls are unanswered, voice mails, emails and text messages likewise unanswered. I finally made contact via ******** Messenger on the 1st of August. I received a reply that they would call me that day, and to this date (8/7/23) I have received no communication.I financed the bike through Affirm, and am making payments on an unusable and unsafe machine with zero manufacturer support.I have two main concerns: First is the design flaw and manufacturing quality issues that create an unsafe product. For context, I am a retired production ******* with manufacturing and assembly and quality assurance experience in semiconductor manufacturing, automotive and bicycle repair and other heavy industries. The parts involved have incorrect paint coating, clamping surfaces and inadequate knurling, causing a dire safety issue. I purchased an aftermarket replacement part which works better, but the problem persists even with a proper stem.Second is due to the lack of communication and support, I have no confidence in the product and wish to return it, yet cannot contact the company to issue a return authorization. The shipping box has been destroyed during this time interval. I just want two things: to return this item for refund, and urge them to fix the design flaw before someone gets hurt.
