      They claim that the credit union and their mortgage company are separate, however if you are on your mortgage they will diable your banking credentials and you cannot access your account via debit card or online banking. If you call customer service, they will not help you. They transfer you to the mortgage area, who then only will discuss your mortgage with you and not your bank accounts.

      The products and services are elite in todays market. The retail staff is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure all needs are met. I love Lmcu.

      Lake Michigan Credit Union is the most incompetent and *************** if you are looking to acquire a mortgage loan. I'm sure all the other services they provide are just as terrible. I've worked twice now with ***************************** from the **************, ** location and she is the WORST. She along with her peers will waste your time, money, and add unnecessary stress to the application process. She has zero communication skills, types her messages like a fifth grader, and provides no updates on your loan. I refuse to ever use this credit union for anything. Would never recommend. I encourage others to stay as far away from them as possible.

      Ive been thinking with LMCU for over 10 years. I started as just a child. I had fraudulent charges on my debit card for over $300 and they denied my dispute.

      Here is your warning. Pay the extra interest rate with a different company. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. We are buying a piece of property and it's coming up on 2 months and still no closing date. The interest rate went from **** to being **** on the paperwork. Constantly have to call to push them to pick up the pace. We've given them all the paperwork they needed, didn't hear from them for a week and now requesting paperwork that we have already given them. This has been an absolute nightmare dealing with anyone and everyone I've chat with to try and get some help. I been telling them for almost 2 months I have a vacation next week and going to be gone for 3 weeks. Again absolutely no motivation to try and get this done by next week. I've called to keep going up the chain of command and 1st time refused to let me talk to the rep I was dealing with boss and now this week I finally got a boss higher up and of course went to voice-mail and have yet to get a call back and that was Mon. We found a diamond in the rough and about to lose it dealing with these incompetent group here at Lake Michigan Credit Union loan ***** Bottom line, they don't give af. U have been warned.
