On June 23, 2022, my daughter signed a lease at The Lofts at 5 Lyon in ************ that I co-signed with her. After we signed the lease she was told she was waitlisted and they were trying to find her roommates (she applied for a 4 bedroom apartment). On June 30th, we started getting emails from the apartments stating that they only had a few room remaining and that we should "apply", so I told my daughter to call and inquire if she actually had an apartment. On July 5th, she started trying to call, as we wanted to pay our security deposit to ensure she had a place to stay. She left a voicemail at that time with ******************************We emailed in July, and called at least 4 times (leaving voicemails each time) and stopped by the property once to check on her status and to see if she still had a place. We never received a response. On August 5th, after going ************************************************************************************ not, we started looking for alternate housing as she needed a place before classes started back. My daughter found another apartment and on August 19, 22, at 7:06 pm we received an email out of nowhere saying that she was to move in on Aug 20, 22 between the hours of 12pm - 2pm! I immediately contacted the apartment and told them she would not be moving in and had found another place! On 8/22/22, ***********************, property manager contacted me and said that because we signed a legal binding contract that it would be sent to collections if she does not move in. I emailed he and ****** back with all my physical evidence (emails and dates of phone calls made and visits) stating that we were forced to find another apartment due to lack of correspondence and my daughter requiring a place to stay before college classes started. I would like this issue resolved as I do not want my credit affected due to their negligence in correspondence.
