This company is nothing but a scam that takes every effort to sound legitimate and that they can help. They claimed to be able to get ** out from our timeshares with **************** Vacations - for a cost of $11,000 which needed to be paid up front. We couldnt afford timeshare payments and were needing a way out so we borrowed money to be able to hire Newton Group. Newton has done nothing to get us out from the timeshares and then hired their internal law firm DC Law - which is full of alleged attorneys who do nothing either, except send an occasional letter to the timeshare. I received a call from 3 different states attorney general who all advised this is a scam and Newton can not do anything, nor can DC Law do anything to get anyone out from a timeshare. The only acceptable resolution in this matter is a full refund so we can pay back our family we borrowed from to get this done along with no further contact from Newton or DC Law and any of its agents. Its sad they continue to scam consumers, as when you try to contact them you either dont get a response or a canned response that they are working on it and could take up to two years. Our $11,000 needs to be refunded immediately.Business Response

Customer ******************* only recently hired ********************. On 07/01/22, ************** was presented with an exit option in which he declined for both of his timeshare ownerships. Moving forward, customer ************** chose to work with our partner law firm. With the declined offer of expediting his timeshare exit, Our partner law firm has and will continue to provide legal advice regarding helping ************** with his unwanted timeshare. Our contract with ************** states that we cannot guarantee a timeframe but the law firm is working as quickly as circumstances allow.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:****** attorney general has advised company is a fraud and they have already proven to be such. Their law firm barely returns calls and extremely unprofessional- definitely doesnt have consumer/client interests at heart. **** told multiple times dont contact us we will contact you when we know something. Holiday ******** Vacations also states they have not been contacted by DC Law. Dishonest from the beginning as it appears they are content to just take peoples money and act like they are doing things to resolve the issues.
Newtons exit option was to pay the balances in full- what kind of joke is that? Its a shame these companies are permitted to continue operations

I was impressed by Newton Group's better business rating and the presentation they gave. I had 2 timeshares and paid almost $7,000 to the Newton Group. This was back in September of 2020. The first timeshare transfer happened fairly well. The second one has become an ongoing debacle. The first person that the transfer company you selected tried to transfer the time share to, did not even have a valid drivers license. The second person they worked with actually had the property transferred to them. That changed quickly when it was transferred back to me because that person owed fees on other properties that they owned. After this happened your company told me that the transfer company was working on it. I was told not to talk with the timeshare company and not to pay any more fees. I have call the Newton group repeatedly for two years now and The Newton Group tells me every time the same thing "THAT THEY ARE WAITING ON A RESPONSE FROM THE TRANSFER COMPANY" I have also been told they will call me with the statis and no calls are received. I had asked for the lawyer they say is available to represent me to get involved at the suggestion of one of there representatives, and was surprised that this request was just forgotten. Now I am behind on condo fees for 2 years. I am concerned about this effecting my credit rating.I feel the Newton Group is not doing anything to complete this transfer and has put me into unneeded debt.I am concerned about my credit rating being effected.Business Response

For the second property and do to unforeseen circumstances, the client was referred to **************, where a personal attorney was retained at no additional expense. April 2022 I paid them ****** for reaolving my vacation village property and Diamond resorts.I withdrew the diamond resorts property as I was old it would cost more. aabout 6 weeks into the contract. Signed a contract with Newtown Group Sept 13 2021 for them to help us out of our timeshare contract with BlueGreen. Newtown Group contracted ** Capital Law to handle the transaction. We paid them $4695.00 for this service. As of today they haven't done anything. We were told that we need to contact Bluegreen to get a settlement amount since they usually dont talk to the lawyers. I paid for a service that has not been completed a this point and I only hear from the lawyers when I call them. they dont keep me updated on the progress. the lawyers also told me that I probably will have to pay the payoff amount the get rid of my timeshare. why do I have to pay for this when I paid for a service that stated they would be able to help us dissolve our timeshare. I would like to recoup the monies paid to the Newtown Group.Business Response

The customer unfortunately has not accurately stated the relevant facts in an effort to get a refund to which she is not entitled. Not long after the customer signed up with, and paid, *********************************************, she was presented with an exit option which she declined. Thereafter, pursuant to its contract with the customer, ********************************************* retained DC Capital Law on the customers behalf. Without going into detail, the customers attorney presented various strategies to achieve an exit, one of which was for the customer to contact the resort directly to pursue a settlement. The customer did so, as instructed by the attorney, and received a settlement offer. The customer is now apparently seeking a refund from Newton Group to fund her settlement. To the extent the customer thinks she was going to be able to get out of her timeshare with no settlement payment, the contract she signed expressly states otherwise that the resort might require a settlement payment to take the timeshare back. If the customer is unable or unwilling to pay the settlement amount to achieve an exit, DC Capital Law remains ready and willing to work with the customer on pursuing other strategies.
Under these circumstances, both Newton Group and DC Capital Law have fully performed, and the customers request for a refund is respectfully denied.Initial Complaint

On March 9,2022 I entered a contract with with " Newton Group, ****, ** to Exit my Timeshare at a Gross fee of $5995. All requested documents were signed, ********* and returned to Newton by 3/25/22 including a copy of the present Deed! After several weeks Newton Agent informed me that Negotiations with my condo "************** ********* " was un successful and suggested their Option 2, a consultation with their partner Lawyers at more cost. After several weeks it was concluded that that Option failed then they suggested their Option 3 , their Partner Transfer Broker at more cost. After several days , the Broker informed me that the Deed showed that I did not own the Condo. and for me to check latest Deed @ the Clark County NV ****************** The *************** verified that on 10/22/2020 the Deed was transferred to another person. Tahiti Village Condo continues to Bill me for fees?? I want "Newton Group " to refund my Money and I want others to see what "Fraud Rid Artists Newton Group" really is!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: The Condo was eliminated by another *** months before NG *** signed on ! The submitted Deed, to to NG *** clearly showed this, yet NG *** Continued to go through all the explained steps , with maximum charges while obviouslyknowing after all their Legal reviews, that the Condo was already eliminated. NG *** cannot eliminate a Condo that has already been eliminated?? They can refund the Money they wrongly took from me!

1. Initial Documentation and Process: As you mentioned, all requested documents were signed, notarized, and returned to us by March 25, 2022. This included the present deed, which is essential for proceeding with the timeshare exit process.2. Clouded Title Issue: Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the deed had been transferred to another person as of October 22, 2020, which created a clouded title.
3. Client Cooperation Requirement: As outlined in our contract, full cooperation from the client is essential for the success of our services. This includes providing and correcting any necessary documentation. It appears that assistance in correcting the title issue was needed to continue the process, which was not fully provided.
4. Current Status: Your account is currently on hold until we receive the cleared title. This step is crucial for us to move forward with the exit process as per the terms of our agreement. We want to assure you that we have acted in accordance with our contractual obligations and have made every effort to assist you in exiting your timeshare. In March of 2020 We entered in contract with Newton Group to settle our time share. We were told it would take around 10 months to get complete. They sent ** to *********** after we paid over 7k to Newton Group. In Oct 2021 they told us the the Timeshare agreed to resale if we sent them ****** more. We did that. As of today Aug 12 2022 nothing has come of it. We call them DC Law and said they will check on it and never return call. We want our money returned so we can seek other ways to get out of timeshare. It been over 2 years and still nothing. They told us not to contact timeshare or it would break contract.Business Response
