On Monday, April 28, I brought my car (2015 ***** Malibu) into PFM ************ in ******, ******* to have my brakes checked per an appointment that had been set up the week before. PFM texted me later that morning at 10:54 am with a list of items they "found". Because my reason for bringing the car in had to do with just the brakes, I focused on their list related to brake repair and ignored the other items. The front and rear brake job they quoted to me was for an amount approximating $3,200. Because I was stunned by the amount but wanted to resolve at least part of the issue (since I often transport my granddaughter with that car), I told them to only perform the work on the front brakes (for half that amount). After picking up the car and paying the $1,585 invoice (which stated that I needed work done on both the front and rear brakes) with my credit card later that day, I went to another garage nearby and they quoted me a total cost of $800 to do both the front and rear brakes. I eventually went to the 2nd garage to just have my rear brakes repaired and the total cost was $400. I then returned to *** on Monday, May 5, to ask for a refund for the amount that they overcharged me (approximately $1,100). The 3 gentlemen in the office did nothing to correct the charge on the spot and I left very upset at not only being overcharged the first time, but with their refusal to correct the amount I was over billed during my second visit. Thus, I decided to contact the Better Business Bureau in ************ on Wednesday, May 7, to seek help with this matter. The person I spoke to at length was very helpful and encouraged me to file a complaint on the BBB web site. As of May 13, my credit card has not been refunded any amount by PFM.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because I have yet to receive a phone call or voicemail from District Manager ****** ***** as promised. Thus, there has been no resolution to my complaint. However, I ironically just received a text message today (5/28) from *** about the need to bring my car back in to have other issues they identified. I have no interest in having PFM ever touch my car again given the unresolved complaint.
Sincerely,
*** ******Initial Complaint

Eagle Auto damaged my vehicle. I paid $2,125.45 for a timing belt package with cooling pump replacement, plus valve cover adjustment and gasket replacement. When I picked up the vehicle, all the lights on the dashboard came on. They said my alternator was overcharging. Coincidentally it went bad while they were working on the vehicle. I paid an additional $470.12 for a new alternator.Over a few weeks an initially quiet squeak grew into a loud constant squeak. Also my coolant was low, so I topped it up (which Ive never had to do in the past - it ALWAYS stayed exactly the same level for years).Since the squeaking continued increasing, I called **********. They told me the tensioner might be bad, and quoted $800. I declined. They replaced the belt under warranty 5/14/24.Later, the squeak returned as bad as ever. One day while changing my oil I noticed power steering fluid leaking onto the serpentine belt! I called. They told me I could spray the belt with brake cleaner and belt conditioner. I replaced the power steering fluid hose although it didn't seem damaged. The cooling reservoir is consistently low. There must be a leak because of the work Eagle Auto did, because it was always constant in the ******** day I opened the hood and saw smoke coming from the engine. I noticed the source: oil seeping from a leaking valve cover gasket which I recently paid them to replace. The last piece of the puzzle fell into place. I woke up early this morning with a flash of insight: all of my problems are connected to Eagle Auto. Everything was fine before them!I request ********** pay to have their work evaluated and fixed by a different shop of my choosing.Could you please help? I request no compensation for my work or the expenses Ive incurred. Id just like to know my vehicle is in good shape because its literally all I have and I depend on it for my livelihood.Eagle Auto damaged it 10/11/23, and I finally realized their culpability on 11/28/24.Business Response

Just for extreme clarification, my number is:

I do hope to receive a call.

On 8/5/24 I dropped my 2013 Mercedes-benz C300 sedan off at Butitta Auto Repair Shop with the intention of getting ac repair work done. When I called on Friday, 8/2/24 to set up the appointment I spoke with Hadjii. I explained to him what work was done regarding with the ac. I informed him the AC free was recharged and the ac didn't work because it had a leak somewhere. I informed him that our shop had tested the AC pump which was in working order and the car was not throwing any codes. I was wanting to set up and appointment to see what else was going on with the ac. I asked him the process of how they test the AC and an estimate as to how much it would cost me. Hadjii informed me of their process that it would be a take about an hour at a rate of $150 to inspect the system and to add free to recheck the system. I was looking at the most $200-$250 when everything is said and done. I dropped my car off on Monday. I reinstated my concerns and what work I was looking to have done along with a sensor that I had purchased for the ac system in case if it was the sensor that needed to be replaced. They had the car all day long. I received a phone call close to 5p.m. from them telling me that they did a pre-inspection of the car and it needed a bolt around the muffler clamp and rear brakes. They had also put free in the ac system which it had a leak somewhere so they wanted to install the sensor and recharge the system then it should be good to go. I told them to go ahead thinking that the ac problem would be fixed as they said they had already tested the system. An hour had passed and they gave me a call back saying they installed the new sensor and the car was now throwing another trouble which they didn't know where it was coming from and wanted to retest the system yet again. The shop gave me my car back not fixed and I still had to pay $350.73 which was more than they quoted me without fixing any of the issues.

My name is Rich F******, District
Manager for the Butitta location in Janesville, Wisconsin. I called and left a message for *****
********* at ************. My attempt to
contact the customer, is to discuss a possible solution to this complaint. Below is the abbreviated version of events:
The vehicle had the original A/C
diagnosis approved by the customer which was determined to be the high-pressure
switch located on the A/C condenser. This was determined both by active trouble
codes in the A/C module and electrical diagnosis of the original component,
there was also a minor freon leak at the component. The vehicle was then
charged with freon and had A/C for a few moments before the vehicle had set
another trouble code for an open or short circuit in the A/C clutch and
de-activated the A/C compressor again. This being the time when we requested
further diagnosis labor to figure out the extent of the new issue. At that time,
the customer had denied further work, and we removed the new freon to save the
customer that expense and prepared the vehicle for pickup.
Thank you for your assistance in
this matter….

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I was wrongfully charged for repairs that were not complete. I was charged when car had freon and I supplied the circuit switch. I was given two different prices first when I dropped the car off and then again when I picked up the car. That is why I had chosen to take my car back.
Regards,

Hello. I have reached out to our shop location and they have informed me this situation has been rectified with the customer. Our team brought the customer back in and replaced the ** Condenser as a good faith repair for free. We went above and beyond to help this customer out and now we cant get ahold of them to retract the BBB complaint. What should the next steps be? Continue to try and get ahold of them? I know the customer left the shop extremely happy when the free repair was done, but unfortunately this was after the BBB complaint.
Thank you.Customer Answer
