    In early June 2025, a German cockroach infestation started in our apartment. I reported it immediately (within minutes) and submitted multiple maintenance requests, but none of them were properly addressed - most were just closed without resolution. Pest control didnt come for 14 days, and when they finally entered, they didnt treat and claimed no activity was found. I had already submitted multiple photos clearly showing roaches and droppings before that point, but instead of acting on the evidence, management asked us to trap and save a ***** ourselves to move forward. This is completely inappropriate, especially to ask two young girls to do when we have not been able to stay in the apartment recently.We were also told that all surrounding units would be treated and that management would be present with pest control, but our doorbell camera films 24/7 and shows that only our unit was entered the entire day and no staff were with them. Roaches have been found in the pantry, kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedrooms, and on clean items like my water bottle. We have had to throw out all of our food and were using our own bait and traps until we found another place to stay, but these did not help. Our most recent service request is still marked on hold.I sent a 7-day legal notice under Michigan law (MCL *******) on June 19, 2025, but as of now, there has been no response after 5 days. *** filed reports with the ***************************, City of *********, and Public Safety. We are preparing to vacate the unit due to the ongoing, worsening infestation and lack of response. The emotional, financial, and physical impact has been awful while we are just trying to make it through the day. Im posting this publicly to help others understand how this situation was handled. In total, I have reached out to them over phone, email, and service requests greater than 15 times in the last 19 days with no fix.

    I have been living here for almost 2 years now and at first it was great the hallways stayed cleaned and it always smelled super nice. Since the beginning of this year there has been vomit on the carpet in the hallway. Garage stains, dog urine and p*** and sometimes even food. Theres bags of garbage that are constantly in the hallways. And Ive complained multiple times about the hallways because my rent is continuing to go up but no cleaning is being done no maintenance what so ever. I have been told multiple times now that they would be cleaned but still nothing. I even had somebody tell me a few months back that the carpet would just get replaced and still nothing. I thought about renting a carpet cleaner and just cleaning it myself but thats not my job and this is getting to be ridiculous.

    Thank you for your feedback on our community.  We strive to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.  We can assure you our buildings are routinely cleaned by a third-part company.  We, Element on Main, have been preparing for an extensive interior building renovation and hope you are excited as we are.  As there is a procedure to follow with such projects, we are hopeful to have renovations start as soon as January 2025 and will communicat updates with the site and building appropriately.  We sincerely hope to improve your quality of living through additional site-wide improvements and will be sure to communicate all pertinent information to the community as a whole.

    This complex is horrible and includes filthy living conditions. I have been a resident just under a year and have had issues literally since the day I got keys. These problems include lights falling out from ceiling, pet waste in stairwells/walls/entrance, marijuana smell, residents blocking actual building door with trash. The list seems endless. Over 4 months I have called the office every week, sometimes multiple times a week because my neighbor smokes marijuana. The smell is so strong that it comes through our unit, and circulates. Our clothes are trashed because we share a wall and it is in the closet. It was so bad one day my husband (who is a truck driver) had to get drug tested because his work smelled it on him. Did Element care? No, lost out of a half day of pay because of this. If we both lost jobs then they wouldnt get rent although they could solve the issue. Its frustrating yes, but the fact that I have had to reach out on numerous occasions to get in contact with someone is the most frustrating part. They never solve anything, they only send general emails (if that), and never contact you back. Why is there even a staff? I had another issue because people werent picking up after their dogs and my dog got sick. I had to spend $200 at the vet because people treat the complex like section 8 housing. The waste got so bad you could not walk on any grass at all and my dog refused to go. It was almost always on the sidewalk building entrance and stair case. Imagine that at the place you LIVE. It was way better when the complex was carriage green. This new company is horrible. They dont even allow you to get contact information for their corporate company. *** requested several times and they continue to gatekeep.
