I was a customer with Verizon for over 5 years. In the last year they started billing extra hundreds of dollars claiming it was because they had failed to bill me for it monthly for a discount they failed to correct after returning a broadband router that never worked for me. I returned it within the first 30 days because it would not work correctly. They decided to bill me more than a year later. Because I was on automatic payment they were able to take the money from my bank without authorization. When I called to investigate they lied to me multiple times saying they would refund the money. They never did. Next I decided to look for other service. I called and checked with them to find out if any of my devices were still under contract. They said the watch was, so I paid it off. There was no mention of a contract on my two phones, that were supposed to have been a promotion without extending the contract. So, once I moved my service, they sent me a bill for another $350 to pay out the phones, which I didn't know I owed on. I complained again to no avail. By then I had no access to my online invoices. They charged me $5 to print a copy. I spent hours on the phone with them and got no where. Finally I called to pay off the final bill because I was fed up with messing with them. I wanted to pay the bill with a credit card and was told they couldn't accept a card payment and wanted my banking details again. I said no way. I knew they could take any amount they wanted to from experience. The customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold for a very long time until they just randomly disconnected the call.

I purchased a hot spot device from Verizon that never worked. I contacted Verizon to close the account, and they told me that I had a service bill for $212, even though the customer service rep (Daisy) verified I had never used the service. She put me on hold and went back to talk to the "the back office", and came back and had somewhat reduced the bill. I asked why it was still so high and she told me there was an activation fee and a month of service. I explained again that I could not activate or use the service because their device wouldn't work. She put me on hold again, and then told me she had deleted the activation fee and I just had one month of usage. I kept asking how they could charge when it was their fault I couldn't use the service and that she had verified it had never been used. We kept going around in circles and I finally gave up and made a complaint here. I just received an email regarding my bill which is now somehow $140.92. So to summarize, Verizon sold me a piece of crap device that wouldn't work and then charged me for service I couldn't use because of said crap device, and thinks that is an ok business practice, which it is not. It is fraudulent and unethical.
