AVOID Travis R Building Inc. If you enjoy sleepless nights, a contractor that rarely shows up (absent weeks at a time), hearing from other subcontractors that they won’t work for Travis Reimer Building because he has not paid them in the past, getting texts from him months into the project claiming that work initially included is now an add-on costing more, and poor workmanship, - then this is your guy. Run, don’t walk, away from Travis Reimer. Initially he was nice, accommodating, and available. He told us more than once that our project was on track - that he had great subs lined up - materials ordered, etc. but as time went on we discovered that he is a chronic, compulsive liar. We felt extremely uneasy as our site set dormant for days & weeks. After our project started, we discovered that he was building his own house and using employees at his site versus ours. When we started to question what was happening, he stopped showing up at all and started texting - incessantly. The nice guy facade disappeared only to be replaced with completely unprofessional rudeness, name calling, accusations, threats, lying and bullying. Think Jekyll and Hyde. Workmanship is sub par. Enormous gaps throughout all of the siding, crooked roof line, incomplete framing, entry roofs attached to fascia and more. All had to be fixed by us afterwards at our expense. He did not provide formal draw requests accompanied by Sworn Statements (Michigan law to provide an accounting of monies to track spending) - intentionally leaving us completely in the dark. Halfway into our addition build - estimating that we had paid much more than the work performed - we refused to continue paying without the proper documentation. Rather than provide that, he terminated our contract. Days later, he tried to revive it but we were so beyond done. We have since spoken with several past clients who have either fired him, he’s taken money from and not performed the work, or provided sub par work for.

Unfortunately you can’t please every customer over 25+ years. These accusations are extremely inflated, and some customers are just are not satisfied with anything. I understand this customer is upset because the company terminated our contract because of the non stop hovering and complaining, the overstepping boundaries between customer and client, non payment for over $20,000+ in extra add-ons. Change orders submitted but customer never signed nor paid for her requests. On top of everything she is trying to screw the electrician as well! After this experience I learned not only does the customer have to do the due diligence of checking references, which she did, I am now doing some checking before I take a client on. Not all customer are worth the headaches, loss of money and now bad reviews and bashing my company.
