In October or November of 2024, I called Natural Way to find out why all my neighbors had received a winterizer treatment but my lawn was skipped. I was told that I only signed up for a lower plan than they did, which sounded silly since I have been paying for lawn service one way or another for the last 8 years, always winterizing. Anyway, I went ahead and winterized my lawn myself. I advised Natural Way over the phone that I did not want to renew service at that time, because I felt I could do a better job myself. Today, March 21, I saw a Natural Way employee pull up and begin fertilizing my lawn. I immediately ran outside and flagged him down. I told him I cancelled service and he said "it automatically renews." I asked him to leave, which he immediately did.Having used Natural Way multiple years in the past, I have usually received an invoice in the mail with a list of services to be paid for. Not this year. We didn't even get the automated phone call advising that someone would be out within 2-3 days like they normally do. This is unacceptable and poor business practice.I immediately called Natural Way's headquarters, and the employee who answered said the last time they had heard from me was in June of last year, which is not even close to true (since I called them about the winterization and cancelled at that time, over the phone).Instead of apologizing for the oversight, she told me that there would be a charge if the guy fertilized more than half of my lawn. He did not, but that is also poor business practice. Natural Way is not authorized to charge anything for services I did not authorize. I no longer want their service and don't want them on my property anymore. Any bills sent, or charges made will be disputed with my credit card provider, or in court for trespass and fraud.

Customer signed up for a five application lawn program on February 14th, 2024, via our website and prepaid for that program the same day. This was an automated signup, with no human interaction. We do in fact show that Mr. **** contacted Natural Way via phone on October 1st, 2024, regarding not having a winterizer application, and we apologize that this was not confirmed with him when he called into our office earlier today. Incoming calls are recorded. Having reviewed that call, while Mr. **** mentioned he would provide the winterizer application himself, there was absolutely zero mention of not wanting to renew service, or cancelling service, for any reason. Mr. **** is correct in stating that he would usually receive an invoice in the mail each year with a list of services to be paid for. These are mailed out at the beginning of January to all of our active customers, this year being no exception. Obviously, we cannot speak to why this was not received. Our system is showing an automated call ahead was placed to Mr. ***** number on March 18th, 2025. The only oversight on our part I can speak to would be in not informing Mr. **** we had record of his October 1st, 2024 call to Natural Way, however we would dispute the insistence that services were cancelled at this time. Still, we have no interest in billing Mr. **** for services he did not want, and his intent to not renew our services is obvious based on him not only intercepting our technician, but also contacting our office immediately. There will be no charge for this service (or partial service) performed today, March 21st, 2025, despite no prior notification to discontinue services.

I just received a bill in the mail from Natural Way for $80.00. It was postmarked March 27, 2025, a day after they responded to this complaint, confirming that they would not be billing me for the services I did not want.
