I paid this company for a home inspection. They claim, after the fact, that they could not complete the inspection due to the weather. (It was raining at the time)My issue is that the work wasnt completed.I paid for a home inspection and received an incomplete one. I was never informed until AFTER payment that the work would not be completed (inspecting the roof) due to the weather.Shortly after moving in a contractor found an issue on my roof that is going to cost me a lot of money to repair. Something I should have known about when the inspection was done.something that would have factored into my decision making on whether or not to move forward with purchasing the house

We hired Pillar to Post to complete an inspection of a home we were looking to purchase. Initially they were very responsive. We had two visits - one with the owner and one with another inspector. On the first visit my husband pointed out that there were windows that had condensation on them. The owner indicated that the inspector would make note when he came. When the second inspector came my husband highlighted to him the same issue and he indicated as well that it would be included. It was never included in the report. We inquired numerous times requesting a revised report. My husband and I both spoke to the company and they were going to have the inspector call my husband directly which never happened. My husband gave explicit details on the the specific conversations with the owner and the inspector. In addition, they spoke to our agent and provided him the report. When I arranged the appointment I was told that the agent would only be sent an email confirming the appointment and nothing more. We would like to have some of our payment returned. We were happy with the sewer, radon and air quality testing. We would also like a detailed report of the radon report if it is available.

    ****,
We spoke with your husband about the condition that he felt should be noted in the inspection report. He asserted he told our owner about the condition; however, the owner did not recall speaking with him about this as he was only there to perform environmental assessments. We reviewed with the inspector and the conditions your husband felt were present in the home were due to the ** system being set low and creating condensation on the windows.

During the booking you asked if we send the report to the listing agent, which we do not. The inspection agreement that you signed and initialed allows us to share your inspection report with your agent, the buying agent.

It is unfortunate that you felt unheard, however your husband spoke aggressively to our booking agents and appears to be unwilling to hear anything we had to say regarding this matter.  We strive to conduct ourselves professionally and stand by our inspection reports. His aggressive manner and demanding our changing of the report post inspection, is not something we will ever consider and his unwillingness to understand is the reason we ceased communication.

We wish you all the best in your home purchase.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your rejection of the business's response.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

My husband denies getting aggressive with you or your representative and even if you felt he was irritated there was no reason that you could not have contacted me directly. That was why he was calling was because no one had gotten back to me about our concerns.

In addition, on further inspection here are some additional items that were missed and should have been caught by your inspector - outlet in the garage is covered in soot from something burning - garbage door roller is broken and screws are stripped out - rotted wood on the front porch pillar - rusted union on the brand new HWH - slow drain in upstairs bathroom tub - screws missing and weather stripping not secure on the accessible door. He also said that the dryer was very noisy. Obviously he never opened it to see the five large tennis ***** inside or the full lint vent. These were all items within he per view.

Additionally, we never received a detailed radon report.

    Regards,
