As long-term residents of the *************** since ****, 45 years - we have faithfully supported The Olympian with a subscription. Our relationship has been very good, with local news delivered daily to our doorstep. That relationship was damaged, and regrettably we no longer recognize The Olympian as a local news source serving the community with integrity. This last summer we experience difficulties with delivery service to our home. We contacted The Olympian online as often as possible, respectfully submitting notices of missed papers. Subscriptions to The Seattle Time and The New ********** that were delivered by the same service contractor, and reports of missed papers were met with prompt responses from those non-local papers and compensation in the form of reduced monthly payments. That excellent service was never matched by The Olympian no reduction in payments and no correction to delivery problems. In September of this year our deliveries stopped altogether so we contacted The Olympian and they assured us the problem would be corrected. No papers were delivered at all for the entire months of September and October. Finally accepting that our delivery issues were unlikely to be resolved, we contacted The Olympian to change to digital only. The representative would not accept our claim that deliveries had not been made, arguing that we had been billed for full delivery service, so must have received the papers. That unfriendly, disrespectful contact with The Olympian did not make a difference in service or lead to any mutually beneficial resolution. Claiming customer service, they failed to make any attempt to accommodation our service problem in the form of reasonable compensation or even a sincere apology. How could The Olympian have fallen so far from being our local newspaper to such an unrecognizable, non-responsive, inhuman and foreign business entity that just doesnt care.

Im shocked that so many folks are experiencing the same non service that we are getting. We call every day that our paper is not delivered and get the same message that they are sorry. Since papers are not being delivered, where are they going? We are paid up for a year and will not renew. Hopefully they wont send us to collections. How pitiful the Olympian has stooped so low.
