As a preface I have a lot of information, over 200 pictures, itemized losses, and there are more elements to the story. Please let me know if you'd like anything additional. NCSC was contracted by the City of Saint ****** to replace the road and all burried utilities on ***** Dr. ** the time of the incident, the road was removed and a new sewer line was being put in. (The new line was laid and houses were being switched over incrementally). On May 20th, NCSC disconnected our sewer from the old service but stopped work prior to reconnecting it. Ours and one neighbors sewers were left open and draining into the ditch in the road. That night it rained and the ditch filled with water. The water flowed back through our sewer and flooded the whole basement ~6 inches with a heavily silted mixed sewer water (there was visible feces). NCSC then asked us to let everythin sit for >72 hrs until their remediation company could arrive. When the remediation crew arrived they called it a near total loss. Furniture was cracking from water damage, the equipment and furniture all had silt and sewer lines visible in them. Within a week tiles on the floor were popping up as the glue started failing. To keep it brief, the next two months we followed every instruction and provided an abundance of information. We pictured every loss and communicated every quote to NCSC prior to the work starting (They never responded to these estimates). As we started finishing our work, the adjustor gave us an offer for damages. it was drastically below the actual cost and when we pointed our discrepancies (attached), they never refuted anything, they just refused to communicate with us. We've since reached out to the city and staff in NCSC and everyone is refusing to intervene. We've never been told at any point that what we're asking for is unreasonable. We've reached a standstill and are just hoping for an independent voice to help encourage an honest compensation. Thank you for considering this.
