    They have refused to send my refund. I have provided a 30days notification and I have removed my staff in their unit at end of Sept. They were supposed to send my deposit and one month. I have tried to contact them and each time I speak to their staff called ***, on Nov. 6& 16 and he kept telling me that his boss has said that they are behind on payment. They were supposed to send me the refunds the end of October 2023. I have even mentioned to their website but they kept ignoring it.

    Her security deposit of $20.00 was refunded 12/2/23. Not only did we refund her security deposit but we gave her a one month refund of $45.00 which is not required per the terms of our contract with her. Our check #**** for $65.00 was sent on 12/2/23 to the address we had on file for her which was provided to us by her. If she did not provide us with an accurate mailing address or did not provide the post office with an accurate forwarding address, this is no fault of ours. I would suggest that she start with the ** *********** in *****, ** by putting in a correct forwarding address with them. She may want to check with the Niles *********** to see if they have her mail that was sent by us. I looked at our returned mail and did not see anything for her I will look again. I checked my bank records through January and see that the check has not cleared as of the end of January 2024.

    Again, she should start with the Niles *********** to see if they have the letter we sent. If she did not put a forwarding address in with them, she should do so. If she gets nowhere with the Niles *********** she should call us at ************ to verify the address we have on file for her.

     J & J Storage is a reputable business that has operated since 2001 and under my ownership since 2009. We went above and beyond for this customer by refunding her security deposit plus one month's rent which is not required by our mutually agreed upon contract. A customer not receiving a mailed refund is not a usual situation, but, on the rare occasion it occurs, it is typically a result of the customer not providing us with an accurate mailing address or by not putting a forwarding address in with the post office.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have provided a notification of vacant for 45 days, however I paid in advance for extra month. I  sent this notice 45 days by using certified mail bc I was afraid they would said they never received my notification. Therefore the deposit and one month were supposed to return back to me. Why I am the one needed to go the post office of their location in Niles while I live in *************?and why they didn't provide the address they use? In that case since they see that the check did not go through, why not they can't reissue another one? I called several times before sending this complaint, sometime they would hang up on me and other times, they would said that they been running behind. I left end of Sept and they told me that I will get my deposit at end of October. I am not only one who have issue with this business, if you read their reviews on the website, people are not happy with this business.  What I am asking is to send my refund to the collect address which they ****************************************************************. I will appreciated.

    Second refund check #**** for $65.00 (full refund security deposit plus one month rent) sent by U.S. mail on 3/18/24 to address provided by customer. We request that if the customer receives our check #**** for $65.00 sent on 12/2/24 and lost by the U.S. mail, she either shreds it or returns it to ** at J & J Storage, **********************************************************
