Paid $300.00 towards the year of dance classes. Was told by staff they would get back with me regarding the remaining balance. They never did. My daughter attended 12 classes and due to circumstances beyond my control she is not able to attend dance anymore. She lives 2 hrs away. The dance studio policy is no refunds if paid in full, yet I did not pay in full! I spoke with staff, ********* immediately 31OCT23, and she stated that she would speak with the owner and call me back. She did not call me back. After several phone calls to the studio and told that *****, the owner, was busy, I finally spoke with ***** and she refused to refund my money. Im very disappointed in how they handled this situation and that they would not refund my money, in good faith. Its very poor business practice at least.

Shes in trouble with law. Rather than the court giving her consequences or violating her probation they placed her 2 hours away with her uncle. Just what she wanted . Shes 16.

I trusted staff, ********* , and told her. She stated she understood and would talk with ***** and call me back. That did not happen. I waited a week and called them back asking to speak with *****. She wasnt or was never available and when I finally spoke with ***** she stated she would not refund my money, $300. I paid toward the whole year for 3 classes. I feel thats very poor business but what do I know lol to me its a scam. Why not do the right thing and return my money, less the amount for the classes she did attend.

    Dear ********************:

Dynamic Dance Studios response to BBB Case # 20926765

The details of this matter are as follows:

    Complaint Involves:
    Contract Disputes

Dynamic Dance Studios Statement of the Problem:
Dynamic Dance Studios Payment Policy -

Payment for year in total - customers receive a 5% discount for paying in full with a NO REFUND POLICY clearly stated in registration materials
Pay by month (**************** monthly payment would have been $85 - she was also offered a discount which brought her monthly payment to $75 - which, in fact, is MORE than a 5% discount)

    The registration process -

Pay registration fee - $12 per dance student (non-refundable)
**************** fee was $24 because she registered WITH her daughter.
Decide on the payment options -
**************** chose to pay in full to receive 5% discount was also given the deal of $75 per month
    Her total cost at registration:
    $75 (instead of actual $85) x 8 = $600 - 5% discount = $570 + $24 (registration fee) = $594

**************** had only cash on her that day - $270 was her down payment
(Generally, students are not allowed to begin classes unless full Payment is made.)
It was agreed to allow **************** and her daughter to begin classes and pay off the remainder of bill when she was able. BALANCE - $324

The studio secretary recorded the balance on the paper that was given to **************** during the registration process.

**************** daughter took dance classes until November 13th. The studio was notified that the daughter was being removed from her mothers custody; however, the student was hoping to continue dance classes.

**************** asked about the balance of her bill. Studio owner, *****, agreed to waive the balance as long as the student could continue to dance. ***** also offered to pay the students costume fees.

    DESIRED SETTLEMENT:

**************** agreed at registration to pay in full in order to benefit from the 5% discount (along with receiving the $10.00 per month discount)

By making that choice, she also agreed to accept the NO REFUND POLICY, which she also mentions in her statement of the problem.

**************** balance due to the studio is $324.
