On 3/28 an ice storm hit northern mi. and we were without electricity for ******************* $545 to run my generator for those 12 days in order to have power. I called PIE&G and asked when they were going to issue a credit for my electric bill which the balance has remained the same during and after the storm. I was told that the board of directors decided that they were NOT going to issue any credits for the outage on anyones bills! This is not right! It was hard enough being without power and running a generator was an added expense for everyone already struggling. Please try to help me make this right. $150

We understand the frustration caused by the recent ice storm and the extended power outages. Like many in our area, this storm affected both our operations and our members.
Please know that members are only billed for the electricity they use.During the outage, no power was being delivered, so there were no charges for that period. The bill received reflects actual usage before and after the outage.
As a member-owned electric cooperative, we operate at costnot for profit. We do not generate excess funds to offer bill credits, and doing so would shift costs unfairly among members. Instead, any margins are returned to members as capital credits over time.
