This builder is a nightmare. Do not expect professionalism or honesty after signing any contract. He only provides insurance cert for himself. All costs for furnace, air conditioner, kitchen appliances need to be researched carefully by before considering. He sold us a furnace that can't handle HEPA filters. We heard "it's a great furnace, you chose it, I have this model". My husband has asthma and I have COPD. I researched and still heard it was o.k. to use. Do not trust anything he says. Mr. ********* talks like he knows about everything (furnace, AC, appliance requirements); however definitely does not. We designed the home floor plan and exterior, and then learned he does not provide architectural drawings himself. His homemade line drawings are sent to you via email for you to print and try to understand. I incurred the expenses of getting larger prints made. He refused to increase the font size of the contract, telling me to do it. His specifications consist of one paragraph w/costs per item within that paragraph. You need to check his adding!! I found an error of $500! Specifications should be a document separate from the contract. There is insufficient information in his contracts to fully trust the contents. My financial institution in ************ determined the payment schedule, requiring specific steps be completed before draws were paid. ********* SCREAMED AT HIM AND AT ME OVER PHONE since his step wasn't completed. His paper shortcuts will cost you. During early discussions he says one thing (ie. 2" styrofoam on the outside and inside of the crawl space) and contract says otherwise. He denied the request to have one extra outlet installed in master bath after house was built. He did not thoroughly explain the differences between the quality of this house vs. one that would be site built. We added very little once onsite work started, and that helped a lot. Contact both the city and county building departments with your questions. They help the most.
