Deceived into paying for a plan that my dentist doesn't participate in after paying $240. I was told my provider was a participant when he is not. Tried another dentists in my area & no one participates! Clearly I was scammed & will be contacting consumer fraud. When I contacted Dentemax the person was hard to understand & of no help!

I spoke to an agent from Dentemax on July 17th about obtaining dental insurance. I was told in front of witnesses on speaker phone, that I was purchasing a dental insurance plan. I was assured, that my "insurance" plan would cover the costs of any dental work I would need completed. That it was, $0 copays, zero exclusions, and no waiting periods. The agent I spoke to guaranteed that I was getting a very good dental insurance plan that I would be able to use the next day. Today, on July 23, I visited ********************** dentistry in **********, ** after making an appointment on July 18th. After signing in to the office and making it to the examination room, the assistant came back and told me that I did not have dental insurance, and instead that I had a dental savings plan. After hearing this, I called Dentemax and told them the agent had lied and sold me a dental insurance plan. The manager I spoke to said, they didn't sell insurance plans, instead savings plans. I logged in to my portal on their website, and the plan they had sold me didn't come close to matching what I was told over the phone. Dentemax's agents are telling customers that they are purchasing dental insurance over the phone and lying about the coverages they will receive. They have processed a refund of the premium I paid. There is no telling how many other people their false advertising has fooled. I don't doubt their savings plan is worth it's purpose, however I was never made aware it was a savings plan, and instead was 100% told by the agent it was an insurance plan. I know they record our phone conversations, as I was told a disclaimer before speaking with the agent. I spoke with my attorney, and they believe that I was sold a policy under false pretenses, and false advertising. Looking at other reviews on BBB's website, it appears I am not the only one. I don't know how much power the BBB actually has, but it should consider pursuing Dentemax for false advertising.

Was told Dentist in my area took this insurance when I took out the plan then found out they don't cover my zip code area after I paid so I made an appt in the next town to be told when I get there they don't take it. I called several others and can't fine anyone close to me that takes it. They sent me a provider list but it didn't help and when I called to cancel the man was very rude and kelp asking to send a provider list which I already had.Stay away from this company.

I paid **** for root canal and crown, after dentemax paid 763. I got a cleaning xray earlier this year, but they closed down and I had to find a new dentist in network. The overall cost was ****. I had 760 something left on my ****$ coverage from new xrays and a cleaning. When I look at the benefits, it say says that dentemax pays 50% of the service. So I am confused what is the 1/2 of ****, would that be ****. On top of that they are only open 3 days out the week with short windows to call. I should have paid ****************************************** less than **** dollars. So dentemax, why do you have a shady dental business. I have used you guys before for a root canal and crown and it cost me 400 and something in network, so what's going on Now. I want an explanation and hopefully you guys can resolve the paid pricing on my end.
