On July 19, 2024, I engaged Mr. ********************** to conduct a structural survey on a Donzi 28ZX powerboat prior to purchase in order to determine overall condition and structural integrity. On Wed July 24, ********************** traveled to *******, ** and conducted the survey. Immediately following the conclusion of said survey, ********************** contacted me by phone to let me know that the boat was in amazingly good shape with no structural issues or defects. Stated it was one of the cleanest boats he had ever surveyed. Relying upon his evaluation, I moved forward and completed the purchase of the boat on Friday July 26. The boat was then transported from ******** to ************, ** on Mon July 29 and delivered on Tues July 30. On Sunday August 4, I was able to examine the boat more closely and discovered significant structural and cosmetic damage - none of which had been disclosed or conveyed by the surveyor. Had I known of any of these issues, I would never have moved forward with the purchase. On Mon Aug 5, I notified ********************** of these defects. He refused to accept responsibility and stated that no negligence occurred. I have no recourse with the seller and now must pursue ********************** legally for compensation.
