I went to Miller Vein to have varicose veins removed. The doctor **** was filling in for the usual doctor that day) suggested I get the shots. He said that after taking the shots, the veins should disappear in a few months. I decided to do that instead of having them removed as it was cost effective and I could afford to wait a few months for results. Almost a year later, and around $1500 in payments to Miller and I still have several bulging, obvious varicose veins to the point where I won't be wearing shorts all summer. I spoke with the doctor (the doctor *** regularly works there) *** administered the shots (through email) letting her know that my veins hadn't disappeared and she replied "Hi, varicose veins and Venus reflux disease are a chronic condition, meaning reoccurrences can happen. Its hard to predict *** this will happen too, but we can definitely treat this. We bring people back for long term visits for this reason. We can certainly scan you again to make sure you do not have any reoccurrence of reflux and formulate a treatment plan if necessary!" Well, I've had my varicose veins removed several times in the past and not a single time have they boldly come back within 6 months. It usually takes at least 3 or 4 years until I start seeing noticeable veins again. Btw, coming back in for a scan cost between $300 and $400, and then you're paying additional for more shots. So how many times should a person come in, get scanned then shots, wait 6 months, then come back in again, spending upwards of $1500 each time? My main issue is lack of clarity in my initial evaluation, not informing me that the shots may not work the first time. That's a really big deal not to mention that and I know for a fact that I would've heard that if he had said it in the evaluation. If I had known that, I would've had them removed like . Now I've wasted probably at least 8 trips to Miller Vein as you have to go several times to get the shots down as well as close to $1500.
