    We rented two cabins advertised as being air conditioned. We arrived on a Saturday and found the ** in one cabin didn't work. I checked the thermostat and circuit breakers, then called the property manager. He said he was at his kid's sporting event and couldn't do anything. He then gold us to shut it off and turn it on again tomorrow, and that the high the next day would be only 72. When I spoke with him on the phone, he said that because he was a ********** he wouldn't work on Sunday. He said he would send a maintenance guy out on Monday. The ** did not work until at least Wednesday. I would have been justified in asking for a credit for the four or five days it didn't work, but I asked for a reduced price only for the first two days, when the temperature in the bedroom was 79 degrees. He refused, saying he had no responsibility because the failure of the air conditioning was an act of god. I talked with him while we were there, and I contacted him by email afterward. It's also worth noting that two rooms he refers to as "bedroom areas" do not comply with building codes; they do not have the required egress windows, and they are accessible only by ladder, so he also is engaged in false advertising. When his office called for the second part of the payment, she asked for a credit card but did not tell me I could pay by direct deposit, so he also charged $149 for that transaction. Had the secretary said I had options, I would have paid by direct deposit, so I'm paying because his staff didn't do their jobs.
