10/24/2023 visit I had was under my approved work comp claim. I have had this claim for 9 years and have been with Twin Cities Orthopedics for 7-8 of those years. During this visit, I was there for my same injury approved under work comp. They did nerve testing for a stimulator for the permanent nerve damage I have. Since this visit I have moved forward and my owcp has approved my trial for this stimulator and recently approved my actual stimulator. This office billed this visit on 10/24/2023 incorrectly. My owcp *** spoke with the office yesterday, 7/24/2024, and explained that the codes they are billing under are incorrect and provided all my approved codes. Today, two days later, i received a phone call where Infinite Health said that the codes were correct and I still had a balance. This makes absolutely no sense as everything else I have had done for this same procedure has and is covered. I spoke with a rude and unprofessional Supervisor named **** today who kept ***eating my name and laughing as if this was a joke to him or he believed he was intimidating me by doing so. I do not want to get my attorney involved in this but will if I need to. This has happened in the past and they have corrected the issue before due to their wrong doing. I specifically only visit this office for my workers comp issues and approved visits. If the office decided to do a test without prior authorization from my workers comp, that is not my fault. They should have obtained the correct approval before moving forward as they have done in the past. The absolute rude and disgusting Supervisor, ************, who wants to ridicule you for not accepting their wrong doing should be fired. I understand now why the employees beneath him act the same way. Workers comp and Twin Cities Orthopedics both have a contract in regard to billing and in no way should my insurance be billed, and myself, in regard to my approved injury.

I had surgery this summer using twin cities ortho. When I initially was supposed to have surgery they scheduled me using a program called excel. *** called my insurance to get authorization and was denied as my insurance did not cover it. *** then worked with my insurance to get authorized to use ******************** for my surgery and told me my surgery was covered and would be approved in network through my insurance the only thing changing was the location of surgery and the date of surgery was moving 1 day. I had the surgery and now and being told a lot of my claims are being billed out of network and not approved by my insurance as was told to me by TCO. When I called infinite to discuss as they are the billing company for TCO they told me that TCO had approved to do all of my surgery out of network and these charges would be on me and to work with my insurance if I want to fight the expense. They will not respond to my phone calls or work with me on these charges. I would not have gotten this surgery if I would have know it was out of network. We even moved the first surgery due to it not being covered by insurance. I need assistance in holding them accountable for horrible billing practices

    To Whom it May Concern,

Healthcare providers cannot guarantee whether a patient has in or out of network coverage with their insurance.  We encourage patients to call their insurance company to confirm in vs out of network coverage. Most, if not all, of our contracts with third party payors do not allow us to guarantee coverage determination with patients.  We cannot rectify this situation directly with the patient because he has requested all future communication be directed through a third party.
