Our prolonged struggle to cancel our timeshare with Breezy Point due to severe financial and health hardships has been met with consistent neglect and insensitivity. Despite detailed communications, including emails and numerous phone calls to Breezy Point outlining our dire situation, we have been ignored and adding insult to injury, charged an unwarranted $30 late fee. This dismissive behavior has shown us a disappointing lack of empathy and professional courtesy from Breezy Point, worsening our financial and emotional distress. We have made repeated efforts to engage in dialogue with Breezy Point's team, even offering to negotiate installment payments to manage our dues amidst our crippling medical expenses, only to be met with silence or unkept promises for callbacks. Our last resort has been to voice our grievances publicly, in hopes of getting a helpful response from Breezy Point for once. This ordeal has not only imposed a significant financial burden but also inflicted considerable emotional and physical toll on us, leading us to BEG for Breezy Point to finally address and resolve our legitimate request to cancel our timeshare with dignity and empathy.Business Response

The Timeshare Association is simply made up of the Tretters fellow timeshare families who own at Pelican Bay. Therefore, their recent request to give their vacation interval back to the association is really a request to give their week to the other owners, and that is something that the Association is unwilling to do, as it passes their financial obligations on to the other owners.
The Boards job is to represent and do what is best for all owners, but unfortunately thats not always what might seem best for one individual owner who is looking to relieve themselves of this obligation.
The Board has been clear about their policy not to take other owners obligations on to the existing owner base. They discussed deed backs extensively during the last annual meeting.
The Tretters can list your timeshare for sale with no upfront costs at Vacation Ownership for Less at ************,or the owners can try to sell their weeks themselves.*********************

Our journey to cancel our timeshare began several months ago when we realized that maintaining the timeshare was no longer feasible for us. Following the guidelines by Narveson Management Inc., we listed our timeshare for sale for two years and informed them of our intentions to cancel the contract once sold. We expected this to be straightforward, especially since we were adhering to their procedures. However, our experience has been anything but. Despite numerous emails and phone calls to Narveson Management Inc. seeking guidance, updates or any form of acknowledgement, our requests have been silent. This lack of communication is highly unprofessional and has caused significant stress and uncertainty. We are left in limbo, unable to move forward with our lives because of this unresolved issue. The situation is particularly disheartening, given that we have acted in good faith, following every instruction provided by Narveson Management Inc. to facilitate cancellation of our timeshare. Their failure to respond or assist us meaningfully contradicts the basic principles of customer service and business ethics.Initial Complaint

Its been months since we emailed the business ************ and *************************, president of Breezy Center Apartments, who did not respond. WHO DO WE CONTACT?? It saddens me to know my wife and I have been taken advantage of all these years and we are at the point where we need to speak up, finally do, and are ignored! This financial strain this timeshare ownership has caused on us is taking its toll. As you can see, weve not once used this. We have a fixed week for the 13th week of the year, which we were not fully aware of how that worked but later understood it meant we were only able to use the timeshare on that week. It is not set up for a season we would be able to enjoy. The temperature can get to below freezing rarely falling below 2 degrees F but never exceeding 43 degrees F. At our age and with my wifes disability, the cold weather does more harm on our body. Adding travel to the equation makes for a bad outcome. Whether you are aware of it or not, the gentlemen who sold this to us informed us the maintenance fees wouldnt be much and would never increase. I am about to retire and we will soon be on a fixed income. There is no way we can afford to continue these payments given the circumstance and your salesmen should have known better. Either they were not fully aware of the increase or they flat out lied to us. Either way, we cannot continue. We need to speak to someone who can cancel this and give us our money back immediately. Time is of the essence as you continue to bill us regardless of the situation.Business Response

We have invested approximately $24,000 into this timeshare we purchased, and our usage of this timeshare does not justify the amount of money we have invested. We were put under tremendous pressure to sign a contract the same day as the presentation. Since our purchase, we have encountered several issues with being Breezy Point owners. The maintenance fees associated with our contract have continuously increased over the past 24 years and are always due during an inconvenient time. We have been unable to utilize our designated time; therefore, we essentially pay for nothing. We know that without this financial obligation, we will have more freedom to travel in the manner we want. This timeshare is not a cost-effective way to vacation. We mentioned all these issues to the Board and they simply said it wasn't in their best interest. This is not a justifiable reason to keep us from closing our account.Business Response

We are in receipt of your e-mail dated October 5th, 2022, concerning ******************
The Pelican Bay Owners Association Inc. is simply made up of fellow timeshare families who own in Pelican Bay Building. Therefore, the recent request from the Genzs to give their vacation interval back to the association is really a request to give their week to the other owners, which is something that they are unwilling to do, as it creates expenses for them that are not part of what they purchased their individual vacation intervals for.
The Genzs purchased from ************ International 24 years ago who is not the Association. Now they are trying to get their fellow members to take it back instead of addressing their sales process 24 years ago.
The ***** of ********* has joined with several other associations in ************ and around the state to create a network for legally listing and selling timeshare properties. The real estate company formed to assist in this effort is called Vacation Ownership For Less. This entity was created at great expense to these organizations in order to provide owners with a legal and safe method for both selling and buying timeshare resale inventory.
As you know all of ********* timeshares are deeded property. Each Timeshare Owners Association decides if they will take possession of a timeshare week, but they are under no obligation to do so. They ask that if the owner does not want their timeshare to list it for sale. Once they do sell the timeshare week their maintenance fees and property taxes must be paid in full before a transfer to a new owner takes place. There is a past due balance of $2,648.58.If you have any questions, please contact me at **************.

I am rejecting this response because:
After all of the issues we've had with this timeshare and your company, we don't think the responsibility of getting rid of it by selling should be on us. If the Association doesn't want to take back timeshares from owners, they should have been truthful in the beginning when it was sold to us. In addition, we are not aware of any outstanding balance on our account. We have not received any bills we haven't paid, nor have we received notice of being late on any payments.
