    7/11/2024 - the business has not resolved. The contract with Slim and Trim was misleading from the start, as we were led to believe it covered only the roofing work, based on our detailed discussions and the information provided before signing. During the contract signing, I inquired about including siding in the insurance claim, and ***** only then suggested checking for coverage, which was not part of the initial submission. This lack of transparency meant we were not aware of any obligations regarding the siding. When additional work was done to secure insurance approval for the siding, Slim and Trim insisted we were bound to their services or faced a 25% cancellation fee, despite the misleading nature of the contract and the fact that the siding details were never properly addressed or discussed before the contract was signed.

    We try to explain the process as much as possible up front.  The customer hired us to do the work per their insurance claim and we worked with them on their roof and gutter guards and siding.  Once we tried to set up a final color selection for the siding the customer said they were getting other bids.  We explained we had already taken a siding sample off their house (with their permission) and had already spent hours working on their project in our office.  The customer was CC'd on the emails with the insurance company which stated we, Slim and Trim Construction, were working with this customer on their siding.  The customer never expressed any concerns about working with us until we had done the work to get them approved.  We felt bad that they felt misled so we tried to find a resolution but the customer wasn't satisfied with our suggestions.  Ultimately I, the owner of Slim and Trim Construction, have reviewed the file and can see written records of emails and phone calls so I feel our communication was clear, and our contract addresses the siding, and the cancellation fee.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I was able to come to an agree with the contractor.
