      Hail damaged virtually every building in our area June 17, 2021. I contracted with Ben ******************** of Schmidt roofing to replace the roofs and siding on my house and my parents house. Both houses are located on the same farm and are insured together on our farm policy. He had crews put new shingles on both houses in late October, 2021. The work was done to my satisfaction, He said he would do the siding for the houses soon after that, which also included a couple of new windows that were damaged, gutters, trim etc. *** stopped and received payment for the roofing in January but did not leave a receipt. We are almost 18 months since the hail damage and he has not replaced the damaged siding and windows. His excuse months ago was "siding is backed up all over". I understand supply chain issues, but all of the neighboring houses were repaired many months ago. I have expressed concern to him about the broken window on the north side of my house which is hard to keep covered month after month in our very windy area. I fear I may be getting water damage. He used to tell me things like he will be here in two weeks or something like that. Now he doesn't respond anymore when I contact him. He also refuses to give me the receipt for the rooofing work so I can turn it in to the insurance company for payment. I have asked him many, many times why he won't give me the receipt and get no response from him. I don't know what else to do. I am so frustrated!

      ***** to this complaint, on 11/30/22 Ben ******************** sent a text message to *************************** apologizing for the delay and the lack of communication.  He also emailed the receipt for the roof to ***** on 11/30.   Moving forward *** promised better communication to complete the project.  ***** texted back that he appreciated the apology and is ready to move forward.  I believe this was resolved prior to receiving the complaint.  Thank you.
