      My elderly mother with dementia was coerced into paying for Christmas lights in May of 2024. She gave them a check for $875.00 which was half of the money owed for Christmas lights installation in Winter of 2024. My mother has since moved into assisted living. Custom Christmas Lighting will not return her money. I have called many times & spoken with *****. She says she is trying to find the time to repay her. I first contacted them on Oct 2 2024 and many time since with no resolution.

      First of all, ******* mother was never coerced into making a payment. We send contract renewals to all our clients each spring. Her mother CALLED US & said she wanted to renew. She said she would be mailing a check, which she did. We put her on the renewal list.

      Skipping ahead to this fall, ***** called & said her mother was moving out of her house. I asked if she still wanted the house to be lit up this year, when ***** said no, I said we would issue her a refund. If her mother had paid by credit card we could have instantly issued a renewal, but since it was a check I told her I would need to get a cashiers check issued when going to the bank. FYI: October & November are our 2 busiest months of the year & I have been working 6 days a week to try & keep up with the volume of work. When ***** called a second time a couple weeks later, I told her I still hadn't had time to get this done. She called a third time & I told her she had good timing because I was just on my way to the bank. On that day I got the cashiers check & mailed it to her. There was NEVER any intention of not paying her AND SHE KNEW THAT!! It was simply a case of not acting fast enough to satisfy her.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  We have since received payment .
