I purchased my 2015 ****** Titan from Jim Lupient Infiniti from **************** on or around the 1st of January 2025. I bought this truck online because I was moving from *********** to ********* and needed to have a vehicle to drive when I flew in. I paid $20,500.00 and financed it through Jim Lupient Infiniti. It was being sold as is with no warranty. Sales person was great, no issues there. On the 8th of January I flew in and picked up the vehicle. I needed to drive from *********** to ************ as I was starting a new job on Monday. Approximately halfway to ************ the truck broke down. After about an hour and a half it was towed to **************** where Jim Lupient Infiniti instructed me to take it. The truck was evaluated and it was determined that the emergency brake was so corroded that it exploded causing extensive damage. I was told by the service manager that it should have been caught on an inspection. Originally it was supposed to cost $2300.00 for the repair and Jim Lupient Infiniti gave me $750.00 as a goodwill gesture. The total bill was approximately $3500.00! I did reach out to Jim Lupient Infiniti to see if they would cover at least half of the cost but they did not respond to me. I did purchase this as is but did not expect it to break down after an hour and a half of driving or that it would cost me $3500.00 to repair. Two side notes, when I financed it I was told that the interest rate would be higher since it had a Canadian title. My credit score is in the lower 800s so I expected it to be around 7 or 8%. It was almost 14%! I did refinance it myself. Also, since Ive had the truck the touchscreen radio has never worked and I have had a body part practically fall off. I would never purchase from Jim Lupient Infiniti again or recommend them to anyone.

As with many customers that don't buy a *************** Contract, when something breaks, they want someone else to fix their vehicle. This vehicle is 10 years old, and the customer was offered and declined a contract that would repair their vehicle. I provided assistance on the first repair as a goodwill adjustment. I will not help any more.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I dont have a problem doing repairs on a used vehicle. I do have a problem with purchasing a vehicle that cost $20000.00 and it catastrophically breaks down in just over an hour of driving and left me stranded in negative degree weather. Gone are the days when you could reasonably believe that businesses would stand by their products and actually put customers before their profit margin. No one really cares whether or not they have done a good job, its all about the money. I hope that $3500.00 was worth your trip to the beach. Yes, I could have bought a service contract to fix everything your manager deemed unnecessary. Yes, I could have bought gap insurance because the vehicle isnt worth what I paid for it. Its my fault for not springing for that extra amount on my payment. I was thinking that little bit I saved might get me a vacation or at least an extra night out. Thanks a lot corporate America.
