After exposing at least 62%-86% inflated prices, they removed my all of my reviews from ************** They are pay care not pet care. Not an environment of concern and compassion. The inflated charges seemed ethically questionable at best and like "legal?" price gouging at its worst. Our dog spent 2 days at the hospital for dehydration and to monitor an intestinal blockage. It was $6500 without surgery. They tried to add $1500 extra at time of discharge. But we questioned the invoice, and were told they made a mistake, and we'd only owe another $250 (in all, they were trying to charge nearly $7800.) On top of paying for each individual staff, a ****** search on the tablets showed they were highly inflated:12-hr nurse shift:$130-$165 (24 hrs = $260 - $330 per day) Fair enough Blood pressure reading: $35 ea. (9 times in 48 hrs = $315) 100mg Trazodone tablet:$1.25 ea. (.17 ea. @ Chewy.com) 86% over retail 160mg Maropitant: $33.81 ea. ($12.62 ea. @ Chewy.com, $9.50 ea. @ Allivet.com) 63% - 72% over retail 250mg Clavamox:$5.82 ea. ($2.21 ea. @ Chewy.com) 62% over retail *Isnt this already part of the nurses role and what does it cost to run a blood pressure device? How many mistakes are made on their invoices and vulnerable families are not noticing when to raise concerns? The "manager" attempted to defend their costs by their "transparency," but what Im really hearing is: we can get away with this because we know that if you dont want your pet to suffer or pass away, you have nowhere else to go, and therefore no choice but to accept whatever charges we choose to impose. This is not only a high-volume staffed facility, when we arrived at 6pm on a Sat. evening to a packed lobby, the front desk staff turning callers away. How many helpless families are obligated to visit this facility after hours and are forced to either face a financial hardship or have to make the heartbreaking decision to lose their pet? Simply this is emotional blackmail.
