We had repeated problems with a backed-up toilet and had plumbers out many times to clear the clogs. *** and **** from General Rooter removed the clog and determined why the toilet was clogged so often. By running their fiber optic camera down the pipe, they found two of what they called bellies, low spots where the pipe had sagged and didnt drain properly. This, along with the cracks seen in the video, requires ** to excavate the cement slab to replace the pipe, and *** referred ** to a plumber they trusted to do the job well. They could have just cleared the clog but went further to provide a solution to prevent reoccurrences. Thank you, General Rooter!

Similar to other reviews (wish I would've seen before calling them) they forced me to sign an agreement for $445 to clear a clog just a few feet beyond the kitchen sink trap. Wait, it gets much worse. They ran the snake through the vent pipe and told me "this is a bad clog". I asked how he could tell because the snake was whipping above the roof line. He pulled it back in and jammed it so hard downward that it broke the PVC drain pipe, destroying my bathroom ceiling and insulation with 2 full sinks of water. Two guys stood there while I tore down the drywall to find the break. They said it's not their fault because there was no purple primer showing on the PVC pipe and joint. I told them it's never leaked since 1983 when the home was built and that there's such a thing as clear primer. He denied the existence of clear primer. They left me with a broken pipe and huge mess. Cost to repair was 3 days from my job and over $300 of materials (I did all of the work myself). These guys only care about money. Worst contractor I've hired in 35 years that I've owned properties. The two tenants living in that unit can attest to all of this and were also inconvenienced for 3 straight days. I would give them zero stars if possible.

While we appreciate you voicing your concerns, giving a written estimate and having a signature authorizing us to do the work is standard. We would like to speak with you directly. Please get in touch with ** at **************.Note that ********* Plumbing Code says for *** used for building drain, waste, and vent pipe and fittings, "Primer shall be purple." This is so building inspectors can see that the *** was properly installed. The primer will clean the surface of the pipe and help make the glue stick properly. The pipes may pull apart without the primer, which happened in this case. See the photos included in our post on ******* showing no primer or glue had been used to join the connection together. The pipe simply came apart, but nothing was broken. Also, just so you know, only a licensed plumber can work on plumbing in a rental property. We would recommend having a licensed plumber follow up on this repair. Any licensed plumber will explain the same thing to you that we have. Unfortunately, if pipes are not glued together properly, running a snake through them can make them separate.
