    We recently booked a two-night stay at Great River Flats, with a clear understanding of the cancellation policy: a full refund if canceled 30 days in advance, and a 50% refund if canceled within 14 days.Unfortunately, twelve days before our scheduled arrival, a close family member entered hospice unexpectedly, with passing imminent. I reached out at that time to inform them of the situation. While I understood we were within the 14-day window and did not expect a full refund, I had hoped for some flexibilityeither in rescheduling the stay or at minimum, acknowledgement of the circumstances. Instead, the response was a simple thanks for letting us know.What is more concerning, however, is that we were still charged the full cleaning fee ($120) and a channel access fee ($40) for a unit that was never occupied. I followed up with specific questions about these chargesparticularly given no services were renderedbut received no response. A third attempt elicited the reply: Sorry, we can't provide any kind of refund.The reality is that a refund could have been provided, particularly for services not used. There were no costs incurred on their end for cleaning or access, yet we were still charged as if the stay had taken place. While I do not expect personal sympathy, I do expect fair treatment and a reasonable standard of customer ********** total, they retained over $650 for a reservation that was never utilized, without extending any effort to work with us on alternative solutions. This experience was disappointing and left us with a negative impression of their business practices.
