August 26, 2023. ***** and his crew left our property for the weekend, after tearing off our barn roof, over the course of the next 3 days, we received a TON of rain. Due to this, it did tens and tens of THOUSANDS of dollars to our bran new custom floor, a 15,000$ photobooth, as well as countless items ruined as we were in the process of becoming a future wedding and event venue. Then a water restoration company had to come in and dry our soon-to-be wedding venue, for a invoice totally $18,000! That was then put on us, the homeowners. Accident happen, thats why contractors have insurance, or so we thought. ***** has never owned up to this is*** and is refusing to start a claim process with his insurance. Also, while doing the work on another building on our property, residing our home, the insurance was paying for him to replace the house wrap, it was also in our contract. HOWEVER he told his subcontractors (who told me then) that it wasnt covered, not to take off the old, and just go over it, therefore they tyvaked over our exisiting tyvak, creating a double vapor barrier. (& keeping the money from insurance taht was to go towards purchasing the house wrap foam) Then we then had to pay out of pocket for another company to come in, UNdo what Cover it All had done, and redo it all. His crew was also drinking alcohol on our property for HOURS on end, ***** was made aware of this via his subcontractors telling hiim directly after seeing it and cleaning up the ***************** proof. ***** did tell us he talked to them about it, but it continued. Since being fired from this job, ***** got a laywer and is trying to *** us for 157,00 for firing him, even though he didnt do the work, as well as 12% interest each month not received. BUYER BEWARE. The contractor license is also held under his wifes name, whom was never on scene, never spoke to, and was apart of nothing. His subcontractors are great, but he is terrible! All he had to do was file a claim & own his mistake.

Customers Statement of the Problem:August 26, 2023. ***** and his crew left our property for the weekend, after tearing off our barn roof, (Cover-It-All had all the dry-ins (ice & water and synthetic Rhino ) completed on the barn roof before leaving the job site) over the course of the next 3 days, we received a TON ofrain. Due to this, it did tens and tens of THOUSANDS of dollars to our bran new custom floor,  We did no damage to floor

a 15,000$ photobooth, ************** told us there was nothing wrong with the photobooth and pictures show no water, ************** also said not worth $15,000.00.

as well as countless items ruined as wewere in the process of becoming a future wedding and event venue. They have been doing weddings there for years without a license.

Then a water restoration company had to come in and dry our soon-to-be wedding venue, for a invoice totally $18,000! That was then put on us, the homeowners. ********************************* said a restoration company was coming the Sunday we were their at the property, never seen them and she has never produced invoice.

Accident happen, thats why contractors have insurance, or so we thought. ******************* owned up to this is*** and is refusing to start a claim process with his insurance. Did nothing wrong  Also, while doing the work on another building on our property, residingour home, the insurance was paying for him to replace the house wrap, it was also in our contract. HOWEVER he told his subcontractors (who told me then)that it wasnt covered, not to take off the old, and just go over it, therefore they tyvaked over our exisiting tyvak, creating a double vapor barrier.  CODE allows the Tyvek overlay, and the homeowner instructed Cover-It-All to go over the existing house wrap with another layer of house wrap (Tyvek).

(& keepingthe money from insurance taht was to go towards purchasing the house wrap foam) Home owners told us in text and emails to leave it on, To be able to us the money for something else for they had spent the Insurance money on something else.

Then we then had to pay out of pocket for another company to come in,UNdo what Cover it All had done, and redo it all. Homeowners kept and used all of Cover-It-Alls material that Cover-It-All paid for, but the homeowners did not pay Cover-It-All for this material. His crew was also drinking alcohol on our property for HOURS on end, ***** was made aware of this via hissubcontractors telling hiim directly after seeing it and cleaning up the bottles & picture proof. Homeowners set up a area for the workers with outdoor couches and chairs and invited them this was all planned out.

***** did tell us he talked to them about it, but it continued. Sincebeing fired from this job, ***** got a laywer and is trying to *** us for 157,00 for firing him, even though he didnt do the work, as well as 12% interest eachmonth not received. BUYER BEWARE. The contractor license is also held under his wifes name, whom was never on scene, never spoke to, and was apart ofnothing. The ********* License is held for *************************** is *************************** not his wife

His subcontractors are great, but he is terrible! All he had to do was file a claim & own his mistake.

      These allegations are all false.

I am rejecting this response because:
THERE WAS DAMAGE to the floor. We also have an invoice for the cost of the photobooth.************** never spoke to ***** about it. We also received a bill to have the floor tore up and redone.--. He said weddings for years?we have not even been the owners of the property for 2yrs! Theres been an invoice for the water restoration, ***** knows this. His lawyer and our lawyer and public adjuster have been retained and on notice since sept 2022. He was asked to file a claim with his construction insurance company and refused, even though the day of the storm he stated he had insurance and would be taken care of and not to worry. We, the homeowners, never told ***** to not replace the foam/house wrap. INSURANCE PAID FOR IT.  We had a conversation with *****' brother/siding guy, who told us that ***** said he didnt get it covered, so at that time, we also thought that. ***** stated we didnt pay for the material, false we paid him 35k$ for the material. We never had ANY PLAN for them to stay on our property and drink alochol. *****'s son and brother spoke to ***** about the roofers drinking and leaving a mess on the property and ***** then apologized to us for their behavior and said that he talked to them and it wouldnt happen again. The following day the roofers did not come to work. The alclohol consumption happened before we brought out chairs (and after) to be nice so they didnt have to sit under a tree on rocky ****** during their break. Nothing more. All of what ***** is saying is flat  out lies. Now ***** is suing us for ******* (minus the 35k he admitted in paperwork that we paid him already) All this could have been solved with a simple "sorry, this has never happened before, we will take care of it with insurance"-- a simple acknowledgement!  If we somehow owe more money than ****** for materials, then we would gladly pay it/ subtract it from all the damages he did to the property.

      Better Business Bureau:

I would like to reject the offer of Mediation for complaint ID ********.

I have printed *****/Cover-it-All's replies and due to his flat out lies (******* you have received all documents of proof, invoices, bills, pictures, etc. However, stated that I had to wait since I already submitted a reply, nothing could be added)

Due to his "verbal"/in writing email proof of his lies and defamation statements about myself/life/property. We will be moving forward with legal action. ***** & the ***** both hired attornies months ago, thats why thats also facts that he knew all about the water damage and so fourth. I am grateful for the BBB attempt in assistance and in-fact, well, kind of, didnt really do anything, BUT his reply will help greatly in our case for the flat our lies and defamation case ON TOP of everything else he has done.

What you do with the information at this point, Im not sure. One would assume that BBB would use such proof and documentation to help future customers not have to go through this as well. Otherwise Im not exactly sure why I was previously advised to contact BBB to begin with.

      Regards,
