    EXCELLENT SERVICE AND CLEAN The hotel was very clean, with a comfortable bed and **************** was outstanding!! They were nice and helpful and went above and beyond to help us. The breakfast was plenty of choices and they kept it open late for us. The concierge **** is very friendly and available 24/7 onsite. She even allowed us to have a karaoke night in their lounge without extra charge. Will definitely stay again.

    In 2015 I had a bad experience at the Madelia Hotel when I came up for the all-school reunion,, and giving them another chance came back in 2017 and it wasnt as bad.On May 17th, 2024 thru May 19th, 2024 had an extremely bad experience at the Madelia Hotel. May 17th the front door being locked when I arrived, to check-in and realizing that there was no lock in the side door at all which was supposed to be a security door, to the filthy tub in the bathroom and the night of May 18th I discovered bugs in the bed, I slept in a chair. I stayed two nights only because I didnt have any other options - Madelia only has 2 airbnbs (already booked) and the hotel. . this will be my last time staying at the Madelia Hotel.When I booked the room online, I wasnt able to book a handicapped accessible room (it wasnt an option online). I called and asked for a handicapped accessible room and was told (verbally and in email) that those rooms were $30 a night more. I chose a standard room ($129.00 night) as I wasnt willing to pay that much ($159.00) for a room at a subpar hotel. I have registered a complaint with the health department in regards to the issues I experienced.

    Very sorry to hear issues ******************* experienced. We serve hundreds of guests every month with no issues. Her reporting to the *********** found no bed bugs so her complaints are totally baseless. You can verify the report from the ****************** Its a waste of taxpayers resources to call and complain to *********** or other authorities when we maintain full compliance to all required standards and codes. We have onsite staff 24/7 to serve our guests and often have guests self check in with advances in technology where they book online, pay by credit card and check into their room themselves. The food and supplies now cost us 40% more but we still have not raised our prices from the $129 charged 5 years ago. Some rooms cost more with extra amenities. The only handicap room we have is a large suite with kitchenette that we offered her for just $30 more. Its regular price is $199 so Ms **** was offered a great discounted deal. We are a former AmericInn quality hotel so we are far superior than neighboring hotels. We hope ******************* will spend her dollars in this little hometown to grow and support than stay elsewhere and complain to the world. A population of 2500 needs all the positive reviews it can get to bring business into this little town. Many businesses are not able to sustain in these difficult times (eg ************ and closing this only hotel in town will only cause disruption to its residents. We run our business with ethics and integrity, maintain a clean place with free continental breakfast and go out of our way to support our guests and our community.
