    Great company, quality work. The process had lots of bumps along the way especially with an old homes like mine. We had lots of surprise issues and dealing with insurance was not an easy task to solve our problems. It was extremely stressful at times and SMC's team was there as much as they could be to solve our problems on very short notice. We communicated with them and they communicated with us every step of the way. Yes they do use sub contractors but so have all the other construction companies I have worked with over the years, all of the contractors we had come into our home did a great job and respected our space. We did have one that left behind a little extra mess however when we informed SMC about this they came right out and got it cleaned up for us with an apology. At the end of the project they also had a cleaning crew come in and do a final clean but warned us that some construction dust may still be lingering around in other areas of the home. This was not something the insurance company would approve like many other things they refused us on so we did have to pay out of pocket for some of the work (that was a huge bummer). I can not stress enough how much the insurance company was the one who kept holding up our project. I was aware in the start some of my work would be out of pocket but didn't realize how much of a fight I would have to go through to get the things they did pay for approved. I can not stress this part enough. SMC could not do some of the work until they got the okay to move it forward, either out of my own pocket or the insurance and of course like anyone I wanted the damage covered by insurance.

    I am surprised how this company has all 5 star rating. For my bathroom remodel, they hired a lot of subcontractors and didnt bother to check their craftsmanship. Floor tile was installed without properly preparing subfloor (one can feel loose tile in spots when is colder in the morning as you walk over it). I brought this up to PM but nothing was done.Floor-to-ceiling tiled walls are so out of plumb/not-straight, even though they were demo down to studs and could have been plumbed before installing new sheetrock and tiling. Also, they caused a lot of damage that had to be repaired, both in the interior and exterior (including a brand new high-end window which they claimed as a warranty issue but they actually did most of the damage).On top of that, in the final invoice they significantly overbilled. When I asked to see an itemized list of materials purchased, I discovered a lot of discrepancies that they ultimately fixed but Im sure they billed me for materials necessary for some of the repairs but thats just not something I could identify easily so I let it go. I had to hire my own custom cabinet maker to finish the project and he was really surprised by how much out-of-********* the walls are. Watch out before hiring this company, dont believe the 5 stars
