I've always experienced issues when I establish care with Allina but over the past two months I've had my HIPAA rights violated by a supervisor at the clinic in *************** and I keep getting disrespected I've reached out to insurance and filed multiple grievances I also reached out to the hospital grievance complaint line and filed multiple grievance all my issues I've been having have been documented through my insurance and the hospital and I'm still being disrespected every time I go to the doctors and I don't appreciate how they conduct business it becomes too much with my mental health and my physical health to the point where I go months or sometimes years without going to the doctor's office because I just can't take the stress that it causes every time I go there I've told my doctors I don't feel comfortable taking certain medications and they don't care nor do they take my health concerns seriously.Business Response

I had already filed a compliant related to this and was told that this would be resolved and it's only gotten worse. I live right next to the entrance of the Allina employee parking ramp. At all hours of the day and night, people blast their music like they're hosting a concert while pulling into the employee ramp. I've tried contacting Allina multiple ways over a couple years now to no avail. Please provide evidence that you will be resolving this matter because nothing has been done since I last filed a compliant (over a month ago).Business Response

I live behind Children's Hospital and the Allina/Children's employee parking ramp on E 25th St. I have reached out multiple times now to ********************************* to nearly no reply. From as early as 5am and as late as 11pm, my house will literally shake from inconsiderate employees that decide to blast their music on their music while driving in (or out of) the ramp or those that park on the street. Occasionally, this will also be accompanied by the roar of motorcycles. Now, a couple questions you may ask?1 - How do I know that these are employees? Either they are parking on the street, or they are coming out of their car in scrubs. There's even one who has ** in their vanity plate. By the way, those parking on the street is just rude, given that patients and those that live here often find it difficult to find parking on the street.2 - Who have you reached out to? I've reached out to every single email address on Allina's & Children's Hospital website, as well as potential email addresses for leaders. I've only received one reply from a Children's Hospital email address and they said they would send to leadership. With the warm weather coming, people tending to roll down their window, and the geopolitical environment lately generally favoring oneself, I am asking that leadership and the staff take action. I'm requesting that staff be considerate of those living in the neighborhoods they work (simply turn down music when in neighborhoods). Where I work, if we were caught violating this, whether by leadership or security, it would result in termination. Some people need reminders. This is communicated regularly, at least semi-annually, by property management.Business Response

On Dec. 20, 2024, I received an RSV vaccination and my provider said that they were taking care to make sure they were selecting the correct one based on my medical history. This should have been fully covered under the ***. However, I received a bill around Jan. 26, 2025, for $623.10. Eventually, I was informed by my insurance provider, **********************, that my provider gave me a vaccine that is ONLY for people over 60 years of age, which I am not. Therefore, **** consider it "experimental" and refuse to cover it. This was clearly provider error and I should not be liable for these charges.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I will authorize BBB access to the information needed for this complaint. However, Allina "does not have a process" that allows me to do that. Also, there rationale is a regurgitation of what they've already told me and does not address the issue that Allina provided the WRONG vaccination and wants me to pay for their error.Business Response

We mailed our written response to Ms. ******* on February 25, 2025. We understand that she does feel like her previous attempts went unheard. Our letter was mailed to her via the **************************** (****) on February 25, 2025 and she responded to the BBB complaint on February 26, 2025, which we feel doesnt allow time for her to receive out response and read the actions Allina Health has taken to resolve this issue. Additionally, I did attempt to call Ms. ******* twice to advise her of these changes after February 26, 2025 so she did not have to wait for **** to deliver the letter. Unfortunately, I was unable to reach her and the calls have not been returned.

There have been several issues from incorrect Rx amounts to simply not updating the chart with changes to medication. The **** ***** called on Dec 12th to tell me the ** was not in that day and that we had to reschedule my appointment 5 weeks out in the end of January. I told her that didn't work and I would need to seek new care if they couldn't reschedule within the week. She said that was all that she could do. The day of the appointment, the ** called and didn't know why our appointment had been removed from the schedule but I did not have my phone with me and called Allina Patient Health on Dec 16th to discuss the problems I have been having with this location. The guy took notes and said he would send this to the manager to review and contact me. I followed up with Allina Patient Health on Dec 20th again since no call had been made and discussed my problems again with a new person who didn't have any notes from the previous call so i spent another 20 minutes detailing the mishandling of the appointment and wrong Rx that still have not been corrected. it is now Jan 1st and still not have been contacted by anyone in management but I received a bill for the canceled appointment which is ridiculous. I don't know how there can be such bad communication within a medical facility. And much of the communication problems stem from the problem of not being able to talk with any clinic personnel and the fact that you only get redirected to their patent health advisors who just relay messages to the facility. I need someone to reach out to me and get this straightened out. I have already voiced these issues on ****** and its disappointing that I need to go as far as a BBB complaint to discuss with someone in management. This complaint is regarding Allina Health ********************************************************************************************************************************Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I spoke to ***** the day of the last response. She said she would follow up later that week and told me what action she took but it did not feel like she listened to what I had to say. Ultimately she did not follow up, and the clinic followed up with me today but had no idea of the issues I had experienced. They were not prepared to reschedule an appointment with the ** and instead wanted me to come in and take blood pressure measurements which i provided them 3 weeks ago. There continues to be a lot of disconnect within the clinic, they did call me back and tried to schedule me 2 months out. I reminded them that they canceled my previous appointment 2 days before my appointment.I would not recommend the ********************************** and I question that ***** did anything to improve problems at this clinic. This feels like an uphill battle to try to continue to see the ** *** I like but the supporting staff cant seem to follow through.

Saw a physicians assistant in 9/2024 for a ten minute online visit. Was billed $288. Filed an ethics complaint and spoke with someone briefly about it who was rude and unhelpful. Defensive right out of the gate. I asked her to please send a prior auth so the visit was covered and she refused. I unfortunately can no longer access the email exchange. In fact when I go into my chart there are literally no messages at all.I asked to please send a prior auth explaining my insurance said they may cover it if Allina would please do that. I also asked for a reduction in the bill since $288 is unacceptable for ten minutes of online time with a person. The person I spoke with after filing an ethics complaint made excuses and would not work with **** am asking for Allina to please ask ****** for a prior auth to see if they'll cover it. If this keeps going too much time will be wasted.Very rude staff. Clearly needs to do so some other type of work.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not asking for Allina to call me. I am asking for them to please submit an authorization to my insurance to get the session covered. I don't care to talk to anyone on the phone and have them argue with me.
I cannot get into any written correpondence online any longer. Furthermore any private messages so far have been extremely unhelpful and the person was very rude and argued.
Please send a prior auth for the session in Sept 2024. That is all I'm asking for. NOT a conversation on the phone which will NOT be productive. If you are not willing to do that than this matter will not be resolved and you will not be paid. Threats to send it to collections will lead nowhere.

While I respect that Allina is trying to honor my privacy all it takes is a "yes" we will do what you are asking (send a prior auth request to see if Medica will pay for this) or "no" we will not.
Doubtful the letter will be helpful. Very frustrating how slowly and poorly Allina has handled this. I see the ****** and Yelp reviews for the **** Rapids site and Allina in general are exceedingly poor. I see why. I will not bother using them ever again and will discourage friends and family to use them as well. Too many other clinics in network that are much more proactive and work with me. ****** learned.

My spouse was seen in the mental health unit this evening around 7pm and was released around 10pm, he was being seen by an in person therapist/psychiatrist who was extremely unconcerned and unhelpful. He told her (*******) that he didnt want to live and wouldnt mind not waking up and she said nothing. He told her other very concerning things which she was not receptive to. When he said he was there for help she told him do you want to be behind barred windows as well as other discouraging things until he went numb and decided it wasnt worth trying anymore to talk to her. He was sent home after this, after telling ******* that he didnt want to live anymore. Now he is home and not receiving the help he needs because of the poor excuse of so called professionals.
