I came in for a routine oil change on my Honda HR-V. My service advisor, John Jelle, was excellent — helpful, professional, and courteous. Unfortunately, what happened at checkout completely overshadowed that experience and left me feeling threatened and unsafe.
When I went to pay, John wasn’t at his desk, so I asked a female service advisor (white, tattoo near her ear) if I could take care of my bill. I noticed a miscellaneous charge and politely asked what it was. Instead of helping, she immediately dismissed me, refused to look at the paperwork, spoke over me, and ultimately snatched the paper out of my hand. When I tried to take it back, she grabbed other documents away from me.
I walked over to John, who kindly explained the charge. I then asked to speak with a manager — which I now regret. A man named Timothy Haselberger, came out and approached me in an aggressive, combative, confrontational manner, getting extremely close to me as if to provoke a reaction. He accused me of “reaching for” his associate — a complete exaggeration — and ignored everything I tried to say, instead saying his associate was in tears??
His tone was hostile, his posture threatening, and he seemed more interested in creating a confrontation than resolving anything. I was calm and respectful the entire time, simply trying to explain what happened — but Timothy escalated the situation and threatened to ban me from the dealership, saying I was no longer welcome. I was stunned. I had asked a billing question — that’s it.
This wasn’t just poor customer service — this was intimidation, plain and simple. I left feeling shaken and completely disrespected. No customer should ever be made to feel physically threatened or verbally attacked at a place of business. To be clear: I did nothing wrong, raised no voice, made no threats, and acted respectfully throughout. What happened reflects an alarming lack of professionalism and criminal undertones.

I'm no stranger to frustration and resorting to leaving negative comments when I feel that concerns are unfairly negated. Sometimes that seams like the only voice that will get heard.I also believe that genuine - positive experiences [not solicited] don't get heard. So I wanted to share our very simple experiences with Luther Auto Group. We purchased a ******** X3 from a Luther dealer in ************* - GREAT staff and experience - The next day, it was discovered it had an issue with the *********** antenna - Luther had ** bring it to *** who repaired it at a cost of $1300 (yikes) and Luther reimbursed ** immediately - we were very pleased with the outcome and Luthers commitment to customer satisfaction and service...fast forward, A few years later, my wife purchased a 2017 Buick Envision [CPO] at ************* location across the street from where we bought the X3, - Again, the entire staff was wonderful and professional. To this day, we have had no issues with the car and still have a positive memory from our experience.
