I inquired about an apartment at ****************. When I came in on 2/3/25 I specifically asked what their income minimum requirement was to qualify for the ***. I was told 1 time the rent. I applied for the apt only to be initially denied due to a locked credit file. Nobody called to tell me this. I found out because I got an alert on someone trying to run my credit, and contacted them to see if this was them. On or around 2/10 I got a call from the property saying they were going to refund my security deposit on 2/13. I was then informed I needed 2 times the income to qualify, and was asked about other income. This company could have really messed up my credit by giving out misinformation on income requirements and running my report. Had they told me that up front I never would have applied because I knew I didn't qualify if it was more than 1 time the rent. Now I am having issues getting a hold of anyone in the corporate office as well as the property itself regarding my $300 security deposit to hold the apt I was denied. No calls being returned just sent straight to voicemail. I need my money back so I can look into other housing options.Initial Complaint

Landlord is charging for invalid charges.-Blinds pre-existing -Only 1 item disposed, they are trying to charge for 3 -Safety issue living here -No maintenance follow up -No communication -Homeless / Security issues -many more issues Copy of email:Thank you for your email. However, I would like to address a few points regarding the charges: 1. Headboard, Footboard, ************* The only item I disposed of was a single bed frame. Previous residents often left behind items, and this seemed like a common practice. Therefore, I believe the disposal charges are unnecessary. 2. Microwave: I am certain the microwave was already in the unit when I moved in. I would appreciate it if you could verify this against your records. 3. Bowls in the Fridge: These were placed to catch leaking water from the fridge, a recurring issue I reported but was never resolved. I made multiple attempts to have this fixed. 4. Blinds: The blinds had pre-existing damage when I moved in, which should not be my responsibility. 5. Hook in the Bathroom: The hook was already installed when I moved into the unit, and again, this should be considered a pre-existing condition. 6. Contact Paper: Upon moving in, I found the apartment had not been cleaned properly. I had to spend two days with friends cleaning the unit. The kitchen, in particular, had a ***** stain that I could not remove despite hours of cleaning. Due to the poor condition of the cabinets, the previous management instructed me to place contact paper, which I followed. Additionally, I would like to request any pre-move-in photos or documentation that you have on record. I will also be reviewing my own photos to ensure accuracy. Given these circumstances, I feel that the charges for disposal and repairs are not valid. Im happy to provide my forwarding address, but I would appreciate a review and reconsideration of these charges.Initial Complaint

I've been a tenant at the ************** apartments since May of 2023 . In May of 2024 I was notified that my rent was increasing from $64 to $807. I had a program I work w/ send a check for $807. The check was cashed May 3rd. I also owed a utility bill for $566. I went in the app to pay my rent which is the only way I can pay it and I had a credit of $146. I didn't know how so I did some looking . It stated my rent was $95. explained the credit. I waited to see if this was going to go to the $807 that the state told me it would go to. It didn't . I paid $95 May, ************ The lady in the office sent a letter to my HRA worker. He then sent me a letter stating I was in violation of my lease for not paying rent. I contact him he tells me what happen. I assure him I've been paying my rent and she is incorrect. He sttd I needed to handle this with my apts. ****** called me July 23rd our first contact about this. She says " Ja'kayla did you know your rent went up to $807" . I sttd yes and a check for $807 that was cashed May 3rd . She then **** I had not been paying my rent and she would evict me. I let her know that she could file the eviction and I would make sure to appear in court to plead my case. she advsd me to send her my screenshots of her mistakes . She also said its my job to make her aware of her mistakes as if I'm her employer. After that she had her assist knock on my door and hand me a letter to evict. she **** she had to hand it to me. every week since then i've been threatened w/ evictions. I have 4 letters and she came in my apt on the 8/8 and followed me into my room and sttd " jakayla tomorrow will be the last day to come up w/ a paymnt arr as we plan to file the eviction tomorrow". Heres the crazy part this is the second time this has happened. last year she cashed someone money order on my acct . caughter her mistake 8 mos later and demanded I pay for her $500 mistake. I did . This time I'm aware of my tenant rights and I plan to retain a attyInitial Complaint

On October 14th & 15th, my wife and I paid $250 each ($500 total) for a deposit towards a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment unit at the ***************. We completed all the paperwork and requirements they specified of us to do. We also paid $45 each ($90 total) for the application fee. It took some days before we heard anything back, and we had to find out that we were not approved, thru the following way: we were cut off from their online Portal. They never said anything to us that we were denied. ******************* said the final decision was up to her boss. We asked her about a refund, since no one told us a complete explanation of why we're rejected. All she said was that we would get a letter in the mail telling us why and she said their financing company would send us a paper check in the mail. We havent received either of those that **** promised we would. That was very unprofessional of how they handled our application and did not phone us to tell us we had been denied. We request a refund back to our accounts, like we paid them. We want it immediately. We have waited long enough, and are very disappointed, as we really looked at this property as friendly, reputable, trustworthy. We know they can say the same if us, but we are applicants trying to get approved and they are the professionals who are responsible for properly screening and contacting prospective tenants to inform them of approval or denial. This is so unfair and harsh, and whether we were conditionally approved or not, we didn't deserve to be treated in this manner and not have our money refunded to us. Make them pay our $500 back ASAP. We want the refund back to our original form of payment (bank debit). If they can't do it, we want a paper check mailed out immediately.Initial Complaint
