    On October 4, 2024, Xperitas and **********************'s ****************** held an information Zoom call for families where we were able to learn about the trip and ask questions. During this Zoom call, where Xperitas was present as well as the ********************** ****************** leads, several questions were brought up and facts stated that later came to be untrue. Specifically, we were told the trip was first come first serve. October 31st an email was sent saying Freshmen were being removed from the trip so that upperclassmen could go. During the Zoom a parent asked if it was their child's first year in Spanish would they still benefit from this trip, we were told that yes, they would still benefit from the trip. And don't stress about the homestay because most families can speak English as well. Today, November 12th, we were told that you cannot go on the trip unless you have completed 2 years of Spanish. Completely different from what was said in the Zoom meeting. Conveniently, the website has now been updated to reflect two years must be completed, however, the signed contract says they must be enrolled OR completed Spanish 2. Which all Freshmen would be enrolled to start Spanish 2 in August and the trip is in June. They have jerked my child around for 2 weeks now. Telling her she was off the trip, then when it was pointed out they said first come first serve she was back on the trip, to now, this morning being told she is back off the trip because she has not completed 2 years of Spanish. They have also not refunded the $500 deposit as of 11/12.
