This business came to my home on June 3, 2024 to provide mitigation of water damage to my home. The team that was here at our house to do demolition was extremely destructive and reckless. They cause a chipped tile and a chipped vanity top along with damage to our walls from them using a hammer to remove baseboard, without a block or shim behind it. One of our doors has a large chip in it. It adds up to at least $3,000 conservatively. We have tried to work with them for months to come up with a resolution and the resolution they offered was to send a "reduced" bill to our insurance company, which they did. However, that reduced amount is what our insurance paid us on our claim so basically they received a discount, and we are left to do the repairs/replacements necessary AT OUR EXPENSE. Our insurance company is not going to pay us for that. What you SHOULD have done was send us a check for the damages. You reducing the bill to our insurance company does nothing for us - WE are the customer NOT the insurance company. The company was sorely lacking in quality, regard for our property, and communication. The most shocking and disappointing thing of all is that never ONCE did anyone from ServiceMaster apologize for the damages caused by their crew. The situation should have never happened, and their lack of response and compensation is astonishing.

Regarding the demo for the Leighton's. As with any demo from water loss or fire loss there is always a chance that there may be some damage.  When removing vanities, cabinets, counter tops - insurance has always covered if there is damage done during the demo/removal of materials. It is never intentional and unfortunately it does happen. When removing the baseboards it is the same. If the drywall is saturated and we have to remove the baseboards damage can occur due to the saturation. I had not heard about the chipped tile or the door. If insurance is paying the bill, we need to reduce the final for the insurance company otherwise the amount paid out for the mitigation would not be accurate and could be seen as fraud. I will be reaching out to the ********** regarding this matter.
