      In July 2023 I purchased Scotchbrite (3M) some kitchen sponges from a local big box store. The big lettering on the front designated them as stay fresh with scrubbing dots. I used them to clean several dishes, glassware and flatware in one event before I noticed they were scratching everything they touched. I immediately contacted their consumer affairs department with mixed results on friendliness. After jumping through hoops to get them all of the information they required including the sponge used, the wrapper, and original receipt, I was told first they were heavy duty, soo... Then that I had clearly used the sponge for more than one day. (Not true.) However, I was offered a fraction of the cost to replace the damaged items for goodwill if I signed a disclaimer. So after going through more hoops to reach a manager who helped me to get it re-reviewed, I noted the time stamp on the receipt, the photo time stamps & showed my report was accurate, aI got a response that stated the request would not be re-reviewed as the packaging states to test the sponges in an inconspicuous location on the appliance. (Fortunately I did not use these on an appliance.) There is a statement to that effect in small writing under the directions for use (for sponges mind you), under the packaging flap on the back. This was not a warning label. I was told the sponges did not behave as expected despite complaints on their webpage going back for years indicating similar and more expensive damage being done to other unfortunate customers. I again was told though that I could receive the goodwill offer if I signed the disclaimer & welcomed contact from my attorney.When a company knows their product does damage and shirks or redirects responsibility to the consumer with an air of impunity, it is sad, frustrating & disturbing. Please review their review page for stay fresh heavy duty sponges for yourselves and note the timeline. They are benefitting while consumers **** up their poor QA/QC.
