CyberPower lies about UPS capabilities and customer service will pawn off issues as unit incompatibility. Then they tell you to buy a larger unit but off no exchange or refund for something that is only a month old. This is dishonest practice and sleezy tactics that screw over customers. Lesson learned. I will go with APC or Eaton in the future and direct family, friends and clients (have worked in IT for over a decade) to do the same. Hope it was worth the $220 you scammed me out of. I would have literally spent thousands had this interaction went well.

Our senior techs reviewed the case history and there is one more troubleshooting step we would like to try. We would like to request the customer call us and ask to speak to a Tier II tech. Thank you!

I was able to speak with the tech that reached out. It was a good conversation and we were able to discuss what I was experiencing and think through the issue together. The tech was able to correct a communication error from the previous representative I spoke with where they stated my ** was not compatible with the **** The tech reassured me that if that were the case, my *** would make an alarm sound indicating that it was being overloaded by the ** (which it has never done). I am now monitoring to see if the problems I was experiencing persist.

My unit started acting up after only 6 months and smelling strongly of plastic, and as I was within the warranty period I called about getting service. Once called I was informed that I had voided the warranty by connecting a laser printer to the surge protected outlets on the unit. Now the instructions say (in bold!): DO NOT plug a laser printer, paper shredder, copier, space heater, vacuum cleaner, sump ump, or other large electrical device into the "Battery and Surge Protected Outlets". The power demands of these devices will overload and possible damage the unit. While the warranty section says (not in bold): This Warranty does not cover or apply to: misuse, modification, operation or storage outside environmental limits of the CPS Product or the equipment connected to it, nor for damage while in transit or in storage, nor if there has been improper operation or maintenance, or use with items not designed or intended for use with the CPS Product such as laser printers, appliances, aquariums, medical or life support devices, etc. I will concede that by the terms of the warranty as written, I did void it. But at the same time, there is a different between writing 'DO NOT plug...into the "Battery and Surge Protected Outlets"' and writing "DO NOT use with the unit at all". The latter is much shorter, for example, and very clear on usage (or lack thereof), whereas the former is ambiguous as to usage with the non-"Battery and Surge Protected Outlets" and left me feeling as if I have been set up fail. Even if it was merely carelessness of phrasing, that is not a quality that I would associate with a company I am entrusting my electronics to. I hope they fix the instructions, but in the meantime wanted to warn anyone else thinking about using their products.

Cyber Power Systems' software tells me that my UPS is a CP1500PFCLCDa. This is incorrect, and I have a CP1350PFCLCDa. I only found this out because I was in need of new batteries for my UPS, which they do not list compatibility for anywhere on their website, so I did not even consider checking. I spent $90 on a replacement because I trusted in their software and website to provide me the correct replacement and I was failed every step of the way, and only found out about the failure after I opened the UPS to replace the batteries. I have no interest in a company that can't even provide proper support on their website for the products they provide.

You hadn't sent this email, so today I did, but you should find another safer way to dispose of it, such as sending it to a place where you collect it, because in this situation this could happen, where the customer could suffer an accident, which in mine I almost ended up with. without fingers.
