I had a home warranty service called Cinch and I'm uncomfortable. To my knowledge I only need the air conditioning unit on the roof and what ever components that need to be replaced in the furnace/unit in my home. Cinch is all about looking for the cheapest way to get things accomplished and right now they have me in an arm lock with items that fall outside of the scope of the job, at the moment over $1000.00 dollars. I wouldn't have a clue if the heater is also comprised. What I know is that Last year I had HAVC come out and they advised it was an electrical concern. I did not follow thru because it was fall and it would have cost me another deductible to have an election come out. 2023 I was able to flip the breakers until August then started the process with Cinch again. So far this year I've had an Electrician come out who informed me I'd need HACV/Sears then came out, then ***** Mechanical because you need a second opinion and now General Heating and Air Conditioning. So far they/GHAC want to hire a crane and I'd need an electrician well over a $1000. and not covered by Cinch. ***** has provided me with an advocate and all these contractors which normally would each require a deductible but they have a workaround for my situation. Basically I contacted the ** of MN which is the only reason I have a workaround -- imagine that! I just have a gut feeling I'm going to be screwed. In September of 2023 GHAC replaced the air unit. On Tuesday June 4, 2024 I tried the unit and only got air. I emailed GHAC and asked if they guarantee there work and I have yet to receive an email back. I have a new service contractor with Choice it should be interesting how this plays out.
