On 12/9, an employee or owner of Bryan's Auto Repair in ****************, ** had our plow truck impounded to ********************* in ******* without properly notifying my husband or myself, the owners of the truck, that he was having this done. We think this individual did this to be spiteful because my husband was very angry about the inadequate service levels he had received previously and was very verbal with the individual and threatened to *** the business. While my husband probably exhibited less than appropriate behavior, the employee of ******* was also very argumentative. Regardless of the actions of these two, the employee or owner of ******* did not have the legal right to have the vehicle removed without notifying us of his intention, which did not happen. The auto repair shop has both my cell phone and my husband's cell phone and could have left a message on either one of them. On 12/16 my husband and I went to find out what was going on with the truck. The owner or employee would not tell my husband where he had the vehicle towed (pretty spiteful.) I had to go in and talk to the individual to find out from him where the vehicle was. He did reluctantly provide me with the information. After $700 in towing and storage fees we retrieved the truck. We went back to ******* hoping they would work with us to at least pay half as I felt he did not perform proper due diligence by notifying us timely. He arrogantly stated that he did not owe anybody any due diligence and that he would not help us out. I believe legally ******* was obligated to inform us of their intended actions so that we could have picked up or had the truck towed at our own cost (which would have been zero as we have roadside assistance) and we never would have incurred the huge expenses that we did.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/29/2022

    Dear BBB,

Customer threatened my employees over the phone twice saying we were fixing his vehicle or else... I ***** the business owner talked to him personally and he also continued to threaten me with taking me to court and would not pay for the further repairs needed for his vehicle.  He hung the phone up on me and I had his vehicle towed out the next day because I didn't want his business or anything else to do with him.  His wife was very nice, and I gave her all the information she needed to get the truck back.  She also stated that her husband has a anger problem and I agreed but would not help someone that wants to threaten me or my employee's period.
