I made a reservation for this motel room online for 3 nights, June 29, 2023- July 1, 2023. Reservation #*****EE003230. When we arrived today, the room smelled of smoke, and the whole motel was dirty, no elevator and the staircase had torn carpet that was hazardous. When we refused the room the desk clerk told us we could not get a refund. He offered another room and it was just as bad as the first. He refused to refund our money and said he would charge us for 2 nights. My wife called their corporate number and was referred to their ******************* They called the motel and the desk refused a refund. We were given a reference # and told they would contact us within a week. They could not guarantee a refund.

On 6/12/2023 I booked a 4 night stay for work and on 6/13/2023 we tried getting in the room and our key wouldnt work. Finally we got in and they were hostile to us workers. They then called the cops in which the cops stated they are always having problems with them. I payed $515 for the 4 nights. As this was going on, 6/13/2023 they proceeded to charge my card with another $****** charge for nothing. I stayed one night which means I need to be reemburssed for the other 3 nights and the ****** charge for nothing.

We booked a room for July 16th around June 3rd but called back same day to cancel reservation. My husband called the next day and was told it was cancelled but now we are being charged for room as a no show. The motel says they can do nothing to correct it.

On July 28, my family of four visited the AmericInn by ****** in Willmar, *********. We arrived at 9:10 p.m. My daughters are 8 and 4 years old. We swam in the pool for about an hour and then went to our room to go to bed. We stayed one night in room 219. We were quoted $119 for the night. We paid with a debit card. We ate breakfast the next morning in the lobby and then left for a funeral about 2 hours away from the hotel. We received a call and a voicemail the next morning from the hotel manager who was working when we arrived the previous night. We never have received a bill proving the hotel utilized a cleaning service -- and we also asked for photos of the alleged dog hair and have not received those either. Thank you for your time and consideration to review this matter. He claimed we had a dog in our hotel room. I politely told him we did not have a dog but my wife brought in our own blanket because the room was cold. He said he would be looking at the hotel's cameras to confirm whether we brought a dog into the room. He said there was significant dog hair "all over the room." We called back a second time to ask whether he reviewed the cameras and whether he confirmed there was no dog in the room. He then told us it didn't matter and he would be charging us an excess cleaning fee. He charged us $300 on our debit card. We've filed a complaint to our bank and ******'s corporate office. We've also looked into additional reviews of the hotel, which state others have been over-charged for mysterious and unnecessary reasons. How can we have an excess cleaning fee after a family of four with two kids stayed in a room for fewer than 12 hours? We feel the general manager is taking advantage of us because we're young and we payed with a debit card.
