We have been "working" with ***** for nearly 2 years trying to get resolution on our taxes. My husband was swindled for $800,000 which resulted in tax liability because he had taken the money out of his retirement fund. ***** assured us that he could handle the situation and we paid him $7500. We are owed over $80,000 from the *** and ***** has failed to follow thru in a timely manner. According to him, the *** neglected to forward the police report to the **************** and, as a result, they are now garnishing my husband's wages. They say that he owed $28,000 to them. This is also in the Hennepin County Court system to get resolution from the ********. and they have filed charges I have sent multiple emails and multiple phone call messages. ***** seems to be a nice guy but does not communicate with us and when finally does, his only answer is that the *** is "slow". I understand slow - but 2 years???? The last conversation I had with him was this morning. This is very frustrating but he seems to have no empathy for what we are going thru.

Original 2020 tax return was sent in on 11-29-2021.  Return receipt was signed on 12-13-2021. IRS forwarded amend to be processed, amendment was rejected, however, IRS did not notify us or inform the taxpayer of rejection or tax payer appeal rights.

Visiting with IRS in June 2023, IRS requested a new 2020 Amend Tax return with Police report, which was signed by *** on 6-13-23 and sent in certified mail on 6-13-23.  We have received the signature certified paper back signed 6-21-23.  Taxpayer has been notified of current situation regarding 2020 Amended Return, taxpayer continues to complain about stress related to 6+ medical appointments and lack of prosecution by Hennepin County, plus slow response by IRS related to COVID 19 shutdown.  IRS is trying to get caught up and we are finding other amended returns not being processed in over a year.

I am rejecting this response because: there was no mention of the impact of *****'s delays.  He assured us in April when we filed our taxes that he would handle the lack of response from the *** and the garnishment of wages from the ******************.  This did not happen. It was his delay that caused the necessity to file an additional amended return.  It is a bit unfair to say that we are complaining because of the multitude of issues that have resulted from the fraud.  Our complaint with the business is solely based on his delays and his lack of communication

Going forward, any communication will be via ************* Postal Service.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: this does not help resolve the situation.  If anything, it makes it worse.  My issue is related to the lack of communication and follow-thru.  How can conducting all communication by postal service help?  If communication was via email, we would all at least have documentation of when it occurred.  All we want is for him to have the tax issue resolved, to get our refund, to stop the garnishments and to communicate with us.  This was what we paid for.  His response to the BBB complaint was the fastest he has responded to any of our communications
