In July 2023, my husband (**), hired ****** *******, owner & operator of Prime Concrete, to pour a 10x10 patio slab at our home. ****** advertises on Facebook that he specializes in sidewalks, patios, driveways, and garage floors. ****** poured our slab 7/12/23. The problem is the slope is draining towards our deck & house, creating a water run-off issue. The concrete he poured is butted up against the last wooden step of our deck (no form was used there), which the water run-off flows across that step and under the deck. ****** came back on 7/13 and put a concrete edge around the slab for aesthetic purposes because his original edge was high in the air and had gravel coming out around the bottom. When he left that day we paid him his labor money as we had already paid for the concrete truck, and assumed he would come back on the 14th and take the form boards and spikes, but we didn't hear from him. ** called ****** and texted him about the issue on 7/14 & ****** responded by text that someone had died in his family and he would be in touch. Never heard from him again. ** called & texted him again on 7/20 to no avail. ****** never responded to **. On Friday August 11th, 2023, I texted ****** and asked him to contact ** to work this out otherwise I would begin legal proceedings. ****** texted me back on Monday Aug 14th at 7 in the morning saying "considering you guys paid me in full I'm gonna say there was no concerns" and "On top of that ****** has not tried to contact me", (which he has, we have all the text messages to prove it), and ****** also said "If you want to go to court over this my company name is Prime concrete and my address is *** * ******* ** ****** **". I checked MO Secretary of State website & I see Prime concrete is just a fictitious name. Just because one can physically move some mud around DOES NOT make a concrete professional. Unfortunately, the correct fix is to tear it out and start over.
